Ward Melville Senior High School
#84 Best Public High School Teachers in New York
- Three Village Central School District, NY
- Rating 3.75 out of 5 467 reviews
Senior: Ward Melville High School has provided me and my classmates with amazing opportunities. The countless courses offered ensure that everyone can take many classes they are interested in. I have gotten to take so many interesting courses such as anatomy, physiology, animal science and AP statistics. There is so much support offered for students from guidance and the counseling center. I do feel that at times the competitive nature within the school could be very toxic. A GPA of 100 can be seen as average so it is hard to ever find your grades good enough. Also, everyone is expected to join multiple clubs and sports simply to look good for college. Overall, the school certainly helps prepare students for a good future but it may take a large mental toll.

Earl L. Vandermeulen High School

Senior: I like the small school environment and how close all the students are with the faculty. It's hard being in the same school with everyone since pre-school and then seeing kids you were friends with when you were 6 be so judge mental of others. I definitely wish the school was a little bigger because if you get in a fight or lose some of your friends, there's not really like a different group you can join to move on since the school is so tiny. But the small town atmosphere is always very comforting and its nice to know the names of every single person in your grade.

Mount Sinai High School
#202 Best Public High School Teachers in New York
- Mount Sinai School District, NY
- Rating 3.82 out of 5 131 reviews
Senior: Mount Sinai High School has been my home for the past four years. As captain of the football team, treasurer of Student Government, and treasurer of the Mount Sinai Men's Ensemble, I stayed involved for all four years of my education. With the wide range of extra-curricular activities, from sports, to Model UN, to multiple student-run music groups, it was not hard for me or my peers to get involved. This led to a sense of community throughout the school as everyone was intertwined in the clubs they are involved in, which has a profound impact on my education.

Comsewogue High School
#411 Best Public High School Teachers in New York
- Brookhaven-Comsewogue Union Free School District, NY

Senior: The school lacks a large academic drive that other schools have. There is a narrow range of classes offered, and academic clubs are limited. Also, there are only eight periods in a day, with an optional ninth period for extra help. The food in the cafeteria is nothing special, but the environment makes it better. School spirit in Comsewogue is huge, and it helps unify all the kids. The faculty are kind and caring, the students stand up for one another, and the school lets students have fun. I'll never regret attending this school because Comsewogue knows how to create a wonderful school atmosphere.
