Alum: Science Academy was a great school in terms of education quality and classmates. We were also given direct access to advanced equipment in the engineering lab such as 3D Printers, Acrylic Printing Machines, Multiple Cutting Devices, and more- all for free! I am also very fond of the environment I was immersed in. Science Academy is a very competitive school. Its environment only motivated me to do better in my classes. The only thing that kept me from giving this rating a 5 stars was the sudden shift in rules that dampened my senior year. Administration changed a lot of the long term traditions that I anticipating enjoying when I was a freshman and definitely looked forward to as a senior such as the Renfest trip, Collaboration on Fridays, and being able to enjoy lunches with my Med High friends. Senior: The learning environment was very rigorous but it helped prepare me for college. They teach you advanced learning techniques and have an open and welcoming environment with equality for everyone through the use of school uniforms. It is a safer environment than any of the public schools I went to before going here. I've been going here for 10 years and have made a lot of friends. They are also very good and supportive of students with learning disabilities like ADHD and Dyslexia and Disgraphia, as well as students with depression and anxiety. Junior: LASA is an overall good school and has outstanding academics along with an amazing councilor team and is rated among the best for college readiness. While I think the school provides many good opportunities through AISD and their personal attributes like the library and office administration, due to it being an incredibly competitive school, the students are typically rude and create a hostile environment. Not a day goes by at LASA that you don't have at least 20 conversations a day regarding grades, colleges, or internships. Upon entering, it's nice because you are surrounded by people who want to pursue their career, but after time you see the manipulative ways in which they do so, and the amount of fake aspirations, and people who have no other life purpose than getting it job, and it is exhausting. It can sometimes be hard to balance all the work were given because of the challenging classes we take. However the teachers makes the experience a little less dreadful. They strive to make students the best that they can. But what I especially like about my teachers is that they are very strict. The are strict to where they want us to learn and to have a future; that is what I adore about them. Something I would like to see a change is the school spirit. Senior: This school is an exceptional learning environment, with teachers that will not only give you personal instruction but also great classroom experiences. I’ve learned so much from my time here and I’d recommend it to any student looking to focus on academic excellence in an environment that encourages moral virtue. My only complaint would have to be about the very rigid dress code that comes with uniforms, but most of the time it isn’t too bothersome. Freshman: I love all my teachers, classmates, and friends. One of my favorite Teachers, Miss Pineda helped me grow in my Spanish ability like no other teacher. She not only taught me Spanish, but she also taught me that being nervous is a good thing! The homework load is rigorous so we students can go deeper in our studies! Senior: The best part about my school are the teachers because they make the school feel like a safe place and a place where one can not only come to learn but also be respected and treated as though they belong and are cared for. They help make the school a lot of fun and communicate with us on the daily. The worst part is the lack of funding but they do what they can to make it work. Junior: I would say that as a junior in Medical Professions, it has been great since 2020, even virtually the school did everything possible to ensure students were learning by having a zoom meeting at the end of the day with their advisory teacher. Today, most of the teachers stay after school to help students who have a hard time understanding the material, there are very kind, friendly and always willing to help. This school has taught me to overcome every obstacle along the way to reach my goals. Works Here: I am a proud teacher at SST. I have taught in other districts in the public domain, but SST is so much different. It is a family! The students who attend here are amazing. They inspire me to be a better educator. Our students have designed and created 3-D printed hands for children born with missing limbs. I am in awe of the innovative future leaders, doctors, cyber security warriors, computer programmers and other STEM professionals that attend here. These students are going to change the world! I have been part of this family for 5 years and plan to stay here until I retire. In my opinion, there is no better school out there! Junior: I like the small school environment because then, teachers can pay more attention to students individually and help them improve academically. Also, the small school environment helps everyone get to know each other easily, which makes students feel more comfortable at school. Additionally, I like how I have not seen anybody physically fighting, drinking, taking drugs, or smoking at this school. Some things I would like to see changed is transportation. Kids who live in nearby neighborhoods should have a way to safely walk or bike to school. If this can happen, students have a way to go home easier after sports practice or their club meeting. Additionally, more funding needs to go to hiring more teachers or building more classrooms so students can have more electives to pick from and can potentially help them decide what career path is best for them. Alum: From my time there, majority of the teachers were always very kind and showed that they truly cared about the student's academic success. If you needed extra help, most wouldn't hesitate to offer you the help or further explanation of the subject or topic. Despite being a small school, they always tried to keep the school spirit up as much as surrounding schools. The best part about Eastwood was how students were given a voice and a change to individualize themselves for growth and overcoming challenges. I would say that Eastwood should consider, though, offering better clubs that are ran by administrators and not all ran by students, despite it teaching leadership. Alum: I have attended Corinth Classical Academy since sixth grade and have seen the school change from teachers, peers, curriculum, and the school name. I loved that the school focused on building quality people with virtuous character. Everyday we said the school motto which meant we were agreeing to practice those virtues in all ways possible. The staff wanted the best for each scholar and knew us all by name. The school felt more like a second home and was a safe place. The academics changed along with the school becoming Founders Classical Academy of Corinth, but the teachers executed the change very well. Each scholar still was able to succeed in classes because the teachers were intentional with meeting each scholars needs. The school focused more on preparing us for college or any after high school plans rather than meeting teaching marks. The school also had great sports teams and plenty of extracurricular activities. Senior: Early College High School at Timberview High School is my favorite school yet. All of the teachers are extremely passionate and want to help students learn. The academics are top notch as almost every class they offer is either a pre-ap or a college class. The food is great as the school is located within Timberview High School. The college readiness is what I believe to be the biggest strength of the program. ECHS's goal is to help students save money and prepare for college, and they do this in many ways. First off, they have a course called AVID which helps students by giving them the tools to improve their grades. Secondly, the ECHS program actually allows students to earn an Associate of Arts Degree at Tarrant County College Southeast District. The only bad thing about the program is a lack of sports and music, but this makes sense since the program is solely focused on education.
