Senior: I came to Harding Charter Preparatory High School in 2019 as a freshman with no friends. I did not know what to expect, but I knew it would be a significant change from my previous school based on Harding's excellent academic reputation. I was quickly welcomed with open arms and taken under the wings of the teachers. I was not treated as just another student but felt a personal connection with everyone. Harding has been my home for the past four years, and I have loved every minute of it. The workload was sometimes intense, but it was all worth it and has paid off. Thanks to Harding Charter Preparatory High School, the teachers, and the students, I now have 13 college acceptances and will attend postsecondary education for free. Alum: My high school experience was like any other high school experience, except for the fact that my school was more of a tight knit community, or a family. TSAS, when I was there, was not the high school + middle school it is now, and that is what makes it so great, they always believed in room for improvement, growth. Our mascot is a phoenix, if that isn't enough! It was never that "hoity-toity" high school everyone was dying to get into, but once you get there, learn about yourself and grow a little you start to realize that going to THAT school isn't what it's about. Senior: My experience has been great! Through their concurrent enrollment program, I was able to take college classes as a high school student -- earning an associates degree. I met wonderful teachers that care about their students. My peers are a mixed of hard working individuals that value their education. My school, however, is not a traditional high school. For example, my school heavily focuses on academics, removing the excitement in being a high schooler. Sophomore: So far, I think that Dove Science Academy High School is a school where us students get the opportunity to focus more on our future, academically, socially, and personally. This school mainly focuses on helping students graduate high school and strive for their future in college. I would recommend this school to anyone that would want to succeed in their college life or their future in general. Dove High School gives their students the opportunity to participate in clubs, events, community service, etc. So far, I have not yet participated in any, but I do hope to join some events for the upcoming year.... Senior: Warner High School is one of the best schools around where I live. They have excellent teachers that do a good job at preparing students for incoming exams, like the ACT. Many students get involved in school actives and participants in school functions. I would like to see more club opportunities for the students. I feel that if Warner High School had more clubs more students would get involved. I also think that the school needs to add another building. Senior: This school has an amazing community and family environment within the people that attend. The staff and students are all very nice and make everything more comfortable and easy to attend the school. All the clubs and art opportunities bring out the creativity in all of the students and just creates a more colorful and fun environment. Senior: I grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma until seventh grade when my parents got a divorce and moved us to Stillwater. I really enjoyed Edmond and it was a huge change to go from there to Stillwater. I have been at Stillwater for the last five years and it has been actually very impressive. When I moved here I did not think it would be anything like Edmond but the teachers are actually great and very personal when asking questions regarding a certain topic. I love how diverse Stillwater is and how they offer anything you would like to do. Personally I like fishing so me and a couple buddies were able to start the Stillwater High School Fishing Club which allows us to fish outside of school with other teachers who would like to be involved too. One big thing that the school needs is technology for each of the students. Most big schools in Oklahoma have a computer or iPad for each student but in Stillwater there is hardly enough Chromebooks to even use in class for each student.... Read 252 reviews

Sophomore: Dove Science Academy Tulsa High School is a STEM focused charter school that works hard to prepare its students for college. Although the school may be small, there is still a variety of classes where teachers can work one on one with their students to prepare them for their future and to help them in their studies. The school consists of many honor and AP classes as well as the opportunity to take college classes while in High School. There are many teachers who are willing to go out of their way to motivate their students to set them up for their future. Despite the excellent STEM classes that this school provides, there isn't great funding for sports or more art classes (although we do have a great art class still), but the majority of this is simply because of the lack of funding and the primary focus of this school. Senior: My experience at Owasso High School has been wonderful! Just like any other school, it has its flaws, but I wouldn't choose a different high school in Oklahoma to have gone to. The academics, arts, and sports are the top in the region/stage, and Owasso High Schools band is one of the best in the nation. While the administration could do better, the teachers are typically caring, helpful, and very knowledgeable. We have countless electives, clubs, and extracurriculars to choose from so everyone can find something they love to do at Owasso. Owasso High School, along with the rest of Owasso Public schools, has done a great job making us feel safe. We go perform safety drills very often, and teachers always come up with a great plan in case of emergencies. If you are looking for a great school to send you children to, in northeast Oklahoma, definitely give Owasso a chance. Senior: The academics alone are very flexible for all kinds of students. In my experience I had many wonderful teachers who have made an impact on me more as a person rather than a student. For a small school, there is a good portion of clubs and activities to be involved here. I have been in the band and its Drumline for all four years of my high school life. I loved these years getting to know the band students, the directors, and the supporters for the band. As for the school itself, I would say one of my biggest critiques about it is the size. Some particular hallways are barely wide enough for the passing rampage of students rushing to their next period. There is also only one designated area for the bathrooms at the high school, and it just so happens to be in the most cramped hallway in the school! Senior: I enjoy the staff, and all the students at the school. Teachers are very good teachers and you learn important and valuable skills you will need later on in life. All of the athletic coaches are super nice and have very good coaching methods and knowledge. Everyone in the school supports each other no matter what club you’re in or what sport you play or whatever you participate in, everyone supports you thus making stonewall a great learning environment. The lunches at stonewall are pretty good and they have a nice salad bar stocked with other vegetables and fruit you might want. As a junior you take a college readiness course and it will show and teach you all the things you need to get ready for college. Stonewall is a very safe place, especially since the school board takes the student’s safety very seriously. Senior: Byng is a very friendly and accepting place. There are cliques, but that’s to be expected in any high school. If you are new, you’re bound to find a friend quickly. The Student Council even has a New Student Luncheon at the beginning of every year! Almost every teacher is fantastic! There is one guy who teaches three different sciences and let me tell you, he is fantastic. There’s also a woman who teaches three different math classes and she couldn’t be better. All the core class teachers can’t be beat. there’s a teacher who does three of the arts who’s kinda sketchy but if you’re one of her favorites you’ll be fine. Other than that Byng is spectacular. Senior: Ada has a lot of tradition and I love it. I get to be in the Ada Band and we always hold a lot of the tradition of Ada High School and even the town. Every football game in the fourth quarter, we would play a tune called Light Up which was a get-up and dance around each other songs to get the cougars to win the game. Oh, how I love it. Teachers are also a great part. I always received a lot of help on my work because the teachers cared about me and my grades and were willing to help me get through. I always struggled in school because me falling into a deep state of depression in my early years of school and it made me struggle with learning new things and it has affected me through my later years but I get the help I need and it has helped me improved. I hope later in life I can have my kids go to Ada because of the amazing things they do in the school and just how fascinating all the programs are.
