Sophomore: My first two years at Cherry Creek High School have been very entertaining. The students and staff are very friendly, and will help you if you need to get around. My teachers have been a huge part of my academic life, for they have helped me get through the topic by really spending time with me and help me understand it. The courses offered at Cherry Creek are also very fascinating to learn about. We get hands on experience with the topic we learn about, which I really admire. I currently am enrolled in a public health program that I am very excited about, and will help me further in my medical career. Junior: It's not a bad school. There is pressure to do well academically, and lots of academic competition between certain students, but I think as you get to know yourself and what your limits are it doesn't matter. If you keep to the people you know stay out of trouble and will be friendly with you, you're pretty safe from harm. I've never had an issue with bullying myself, but I know other people who have. Alum: I loved that your education is completely up to you. You work at your own pace. If working with others isn't your favorite, you rarely have to, and your grades are never dependent on the overall product of a group project, only on the work you personally did. Senior: I really like TCA College Pathways because it offers excellent academics and it helped me get into concurrent enrollment at Pikes Peak State College. The teachers are also top-notch and were really there to help me succeed. It offers a very flexible schedule which is really nice because it gave me the freedom to use that time for other things that I enjoy and to try new things. A lot of time is taken up doing homework though. The only downside to TCA College Pathways is that it can be pretty lame socially because everyone's schedule is different and I may not see my friends at school at all. Senior: Liberty is a fantastic school if you're looking for a really good education. It has an amazing faculty and course structure. It's small, so everyone knows everyone else. Everyone who goes to Liberty wants to be there, which is really nice because it creates an supportive and academic environment. The people at Liberty are really nice, and it's easy to make friends. It has a pretty good variety of classes, although most of the focus is on STEM. There isn't a big variety of art classes or languages, although there are some. The English classes at Liberty are fantastic, and possibly the best part of the whole school. However, if you want to do a lot of extra curriculars outside of school, Liberty is probably not the school for you. Time spent doing homework can range anywhere from one hour (on a good day) to four hours. It can be really hard to balance school life with just life. Liberty is a lot of work. Senior: I have had a wonderful experience at Fairview High School and it has provided me with so many opportunities. The teachers and the community at Fairview are what make it so unique. Sophomore: Honestly i really like my high school experience here at DSST Mont view, they offer so many college opportunities, there's so many clubs for so many interests, sports , diversity & inclusivity, advanced classes and prepare you overall for college. I'm black and Muslim growing up I've been to 8 different schools but I've never been as accepted by my community and have as many friends as i did in this school. The only 2 things I would say is the the school and system is very controlling considering we are going into college independent, and the school doesnt have many school lunch options that are vegetarian or halal. but overall i love it here if I had to switch i wouldn't!... Senior: The teachers at Dsst: Byers High School become close friends/family. I love that my teachers cared for each and one of my classmates, and took the time to know us personally. This type of relationship is great, since it makes it easier to ask for help and better advocate for yourself. To add on, there are many options for classes to take in order for each student to be challenged at a reasonable level. There are many activities and extracurriculars to join, and even opportunities to start your own club! Here at Byers inclusivity and respect are highly encouraged, there are many affinity/cultural clubs open to the whole student body. Alum: Born and raised in Indonesia, my family and I packed everything we had and moved to the land of dreamers by the end of 2018. I finished my senior year at Arapahoe High School in Colorado. Language was obviously an issue, but all of the teachers and staff made sure that my sister and I felt included in the community. I participated in a volunteering activity my first year in the U.S.. Partnering with the Big Idea Project, my classmates and I raised and donated a grand total of $1,508 to Urban Peak, a homeless shelter for teenagers. Arapahoe is a great high school that offers countless opportunities for its students and will assist them in their journey. I also had the chance to take an AP class at one of the best community colleges in Colorado with the help of my teacher and ended up pursuing my associate's at this college. Sophomore: I actually went to Colorado Early Colleges Inverness but they had no option for that campus. I really enjoyed going to high school there. The student body is tiny but I like that it gives you an opportunity to know all of the students a little bit. The faculty is fantastic! Best of all, the whole purpose of the school is to graduate all of their students with Associates degrees. We can take college classes on campus or we can take them directly from Arapahoe Community College. This is an amazing opportunity for students who will pursue a degree after high school.... Sophomore: Cherokee Trail is the best high school. We just finished an awesome homecoming week and CT spirit was amazing. There are so many resources, so you never feel like you don't have anyone to talk to or feel like you can't get help, because you can. The teachers are so nice and they're actually good a getting the message across. They are even one of the schools that have an International Baccalaureate program (IB). They also offer AP, Honors, and CE courses, to challenge yourself. There are so many clubs and activities you can get involved in, there really is something for everyone. Senior: All the teacher truly care to see success in all students. They are there to help and guild you. Everyone is there to look out for you. I find the counselors amazing as you can always go and talk to them about anything and they are there to help you no matter what. There is also a program known as SafeToTell that many students use and are able to report things they have seen, herd, or gone through and the staff then handles the situation keeping the informers identity hidden. Sports are an amazing way to get to know fellow classmates as well as release stress. Our school is pretty good with supporting our sport teams, it is a way to bond and cheer on fellow students while also representing our school. I hope to see a change in the meals. Due to understaffing meals where not as impressive as before, but hopefully that problem will be resolved next year. Senior: Very good school with rigurous and challenging courses. Supportive and attentive staff members as well as good school mates. Lots of club and sports opportunities and easy access to resources. I haven't had any issues with the school, and I have been going to Conservatory Green since middle school. Built really good relationships with other students and was given lots of good opportunities, especially when it comes to college. They are very big on college readiness and start preparing you for it as early as 6th grade. They have lots of different programs and field trips that give you the opportunity to connect with different colleges and to just get a feel for the college life. There is a lot of diversity, and all cultures are celebrated as well as respected. The students usually get along very well. Junior: DSST: GVR high school is a good school in which educators do their best to ensure that students are well supported academically, and College readiness. The school has a very strong College team to assist students in their college searches and help students to weigh their options for colleges (getting into a good and affordable college).
