Senior: Tulsa Schools Of Arts and Sciences Is a public charter School My Experience here at Tsas has been really good I came here in 7th grade, and I have been here ever since then. It made me independent it made me a leader, Coming from a school where there were forty students in one class to now only having like fifteen students I was lacking in my grades I turned that around and now I am an A and B honor roll. Senior: I am currently a senior in high school attending Dove Science Academy. My experience at Dove has been awesome. I have learned many skills and met new people. The teachers are helpful and nice towards students. I have also made new friends along the way. My best part of my experience is that I have learned how to challenge myself to things I never thought I could do. Also, Dove has helped me in so many ways including helping me apply for college and scholarships. My worst experience at Dove would probably have to be how they don't allow students to express themselves in a way they can feel free. I don't believe in the fact that "clothes" or "piercings" or too distracting to others. Yes, some jobs don't allow piercings, but we attend school to learn not look at others and it's on the student if they just go to school to play and not focus. Senior: I have been attending Owasso High School ever since freshman year. It has been pretty good over the past few years with a few problems here and there. I think that they need to brighten the place up because there is no windows and it is somewhat dark. There are a lot of cliques at my school so it is hard to just jump into whatever friend group. Sophomore: My experience at THE Booker T Washington High school is great so far! I was a part of the minority from my small middle school, but the community welcomed me, and they continue to do the same. My High School is the most diverse community I have been involved in. We accept people from any background, and we assemble to celebrate all cultures and/or religions. If a student wants to dive deeper into these experiences, we have walkouts/clubs (e.g. African American Society). We have come so far in diversity since 1913, especially considering that BTW was historically Black. Class offerings are as simple as “If you name it, we have it”. We offer AP classes for early birds. Something special about programs is that we are the only high school to offer the IB course in Oklahoma. We have school spirit for days, and we take Hornet pride seriously! Also, the food may not be the best, but the cafeteria staff are so kind and hardworking. Senior: At Sperry, everybody is pretty nice from the student to the faculty. Our counselor is great at being there for her students and is very nice. The one thing that can improve is the food for sure. I have seen food and other things in my food which can be scary at times. The sports are great because the coaches and players are usually really great at getting along from what I have seen. Senior: Kiefer High school has made a great impact on my life. I really enjoyed this school and the teachers. At first I didn’t think I would ever go to a small high school and learn anything but going to kiefer high school has taught me and prepared me for my future as an adult and career. I have such a great relationship with each of my teachers that are even willing to stay after school hours to help you be successful. Especially the high school councilor which she pushes everyone and always encouraging us to take advance classes and is always there when we need to talk. I really enjoy the kiefer spirit when it comes to sports! All student, teachers, parents and faculty are always out helping and cheering our high school sport teams! The coaches will never give up pushing each of there players and are always there when a player is down. Senior: Glenpool High School has provided me with a wonderful experience as a student. Stepping into the school for the first time, I immediately felt like I fit in. The small community of students in this school has a special ability to empower one another. A positive and inclusive environment in our school encourages the effortless development of friendships by valuing differences. It is not possible for every school to be perfect, including Glenpool. Through numerous courses, I have experienced good education, but not the support of the teachers. The overall staff does not provide the students with the support or focus they need. I have made an effort to get to know each instructor, but I am unable to build a bond with them all. Additionally, the only thing I would change is the effort of the staff.
