Junior: I really love the teachers here. They all really encourage your learning and make you actually want to be in school. But most of all, they are relatable and know how to connect with me. While the administration is difficult to deal with at times and they definitely dictate a lot of the decisions at the school that the student body does not approve of (we can’t wear any t-shirts for example with any logo or writing on it), I think they are what made me stay here for my high school years!

Coming into high school, I was determined to join the Culinary program in hopes that I would later become a chef. Switching off between academics and shop, I got to experience what life outside of high school would be like in the food industry. I have my ServeSafe certificate and have worked in a restaurant industry for 3 years. Despite now wanting to pursue a career in nursing, I would like to thank Old Colony for giving me the opportunity to pursue something I still love doing and giving me information that I will be able to use for the rest of my life.

Senior: Duxbury High School is unique in many ways. This school contains both the middle and high school in one building, and for the most part, the layout is simple and straightforward. The building is located about 5 minutes away from the beach and 10 minutes away from the town forest. The programs offered here are fantastic, along with all the faculty and staff members. With food that is actually pretty decent, even with the 'pandemic menu', there's nothing to dislike about the school. Clubs and co-curricular programs offer a wide variety of interests, ranging from theatrical performance to aviation and ESports. Our sports teams are fantastic, and the agility and strength originates from an amazing weight room. There are after school programs for math, science classes cover topics ranging from physics to marine biology. It's truly surreal, and I owe my thanks to the adults who operate this well oiled machine. I would rate my school five stars because of everything it has to offer.

Senior: Norwell High has a lot of caring and devoted staff that have most certainly made an impression on me throughout my years there. From caring and inspiring teachers to thoughtful and easily accessible guidance staff, students can feel comfortable attending school and seeking help when needed. I have encountered very few teachers that have done little to prepare me for following years of classes, however they are not impossible to find despite being very small in number among the otherwise good staff. The school's biggest limitations, in my opinion, are in the building itself. The lighting often feels a bit too dark, especially when the lighting outside is anything other than sunny. Narrow ramps being the only access to certain areas make for crowded inter-period travel that create a feeling in your mind similar to that of being stuck on the highway in traffic. Despite the physical issues with the school, it has not hindered my appreciation for it and for all of its friendly faces.

Junior: ORR, as we call it, is definitely a great school! There is a wide range of Academics offered, all the way from AP Chemistry to AP Art or even AP Psychology. There is a ton of "elective" classes that you can take, such as Philosophy and Architectural Engineering. The teachers are all dedicated to what they are doing, and the students go on to a wide range of universities (recents include Tufts, Georgetown, and Boston University). Outside of school, there is a club for everyone, including the GSA, Latin Club, ESports, Knitting Club, and more. Our sports are highly ranked, they include Cross Country, Golf, Football, Sailing, Baseball, and many more. The school itself contains around 800 students from similar backgrounds, as well as School Choice students and foreign exchange students. Our band and arts programs are excellent as well. Our theater program is probably the most popular club and is also excellent. The school is clean, in a good area, and has resources for everyone.

It has brought me the best of friends, connections with teachers I will have forever and the ability to learn in the school or at home for us seniors in 2020:( Although we have all had a tough year, Silver Lake has made it as bearable as they can for us high school students. Although sports and being in school everyday of the week might not be happening we make the best of it for sure! I love Silver Lake and I am very sad to be leaving next year!

Senior: Hull High is a very small high school. Everyone knows each other which can be good and bad. Teachers are nice and there for students. For the most part, students get along and support each other. There is a sense of community and students work together. Being a small school, we don't have enough athletes to be competitive against other schools. Our fields are horrible and have been joked about by other towns. It would be nice if student athletes stayed in Hull instead of going to private schools for better sports opportunities.

Alum: Throughout my four years at South Shore Vo-tech, I've enjoyed my experience for the most part. The teachers and faculty at the school are great at what they do. The academic advisors always lead you on the right path and the teachers teach their subjects very well that the students can understand the topic and do well in the class. The sports and clubs offered at the school were a nice touch to the end of the school day that always gave a student to do to unwind and have a great time. However, the only thing I would change about the school is the board of discipline. The discipline was mostly on the unfair side and because of this, many students wouldn't care and would fight students they had issues with. The faculty in charge of student discipline would usually send off warnings more often and would suspend students for having possession of weed instead. The discipline of the school is awful but besides that, the school is great for getting ready for college!

Alum: The teachers at MHS are the best I have ever had. They are all passionate about their students and the subjects they teach and go out of their way to make sure every student is successful. There is an incredible sense of community at MHS. There is a club for every student, a team for every athlete, and a friend for everybody at the school. The Student Council is the largest is Massachusetts and is nationally ranked, and for good reason. The Student Council hosts events in the school, participates in multiple volunteer opportunities throughout the year, and hosts and supports the Special Olympics. Middleboro High School is inclusive to everyone and it truly feels like a second home.

Senior: My experience at Marshfield High has been great. Aside from offering a great variety of rigorous courses, the school does a great job at providing students with interesting elective courses. Marshfield is known as a strong sports community. I have been fortunate to play on two sports teams at MHS...field hockey and lacrosse. With the many volunteer, civic and cultural groups offered at Marshfield High School, this provides students with many ways to stay involved and give back to the community. MHS has provided me with a strong academic foundation with the ability to challenge myself with taking a variety of courses. Aside from the academic rigor, the teachers are very dedicated and available to their students. They truly want to see all their students succeed and will do their best to provide the support and guidance for that to happen. Overall, my experience at MHS has been such a positive one. I feel very prepared for the next chapter in my academic career.

Some of them have their moment,s but if you speak to them separately and relay to them what is going on, they are the kindest, most understanding people. They make every learning experience one that is worthwhile. Sure, some teachers have their days, but everyone does. There is an afterschool program for everyone. All programs are inclusive and encouraging to broader your horizons, try new things, and make new friends.

Senior: Hanover High School is a good school if you're looking for good high level academics. The administration has really helped me to push to achieve all I can there. That being said, the less rigorous academics are a bit lacking. Hanover has solid and reliable sports teams and coaches, though this comes at the expense of 0 funding for clubs and an underfunding of the arts programs. Hanover is a very white, christian, conservative town so there is almost no diversity to speak of.

Senior: West Bridgewater Middle/Senior High school is a high school that I would definitely recommend. It has new technology and is focused on creating an inviting and environmentally friendly environment for all of its students. With plenty of natural light and teacher that are interested in their students well being, it was a fantastic place for me to complete my high school career. Their academic focus really allowed me to challenge myself at an early age and continue my education with rigor and comfort. The person in charge of repairing all the student's computers is incompetent along with a few select other teachers, but there doesn't seem to be too many issues. I would like more diversity in school and a bit more focus on sports that aren't football. It is a small school with an academic focus and surprisingly competitive sports for its small size.

Senior: I personally have had an overall pleasant time as a high school student here. The teachers are for the most part enthusiastic and can keep the kids’ interest enough to learn the lesson. The upper echelon can make the most boring topic an in depth discussion between teacher and student for several class periods. The school itself takes some time to get around, but the layout is simple and easy to remember. You can easily get from class to class in fewer than four minutes, unless you have to go to the restroom or a locker with inconvenient placement. When I think hard about my time here, the positives outshine the negatives, which means that the school does everything pretty well. I can’t give you the run-down on clubs or sports, but I do look forward to coming to class, mostly calculus with the best teacher in Massachusetts. Most teachers are funny people who you can talk to and learn from. The school is generally all right with some common problems that will be fixed with time.

Senior: Overall my high school experience was okay. I didn’t fit in with a lot of people because most people find me too loud or outgoing. I find it great because it allows me to stand out. Carver middle high school was great because since it’s such a small community you really get to connect and build relationships with the student and staff. Now being a small community has its ups and downs. A lot of people can get frustrated with each other or just be mean. A lot of students start changing and eventually they all are creating this stereotypical “norm” where you always have to act cool and dress up. I however do not agree with that and continued being myself along the way and am proud I did. I made and lost many friends within carver but I am so glad I went there because I learned so much being there. Carver could really use a way to allow people that aren’t athletic and involved in school to feel comfortable, be involved and feel happy with their high school experience.

Sophomore: I love SSCPS! The education is very good. The students are respectful and cognizant of one another. Everyone is kind and hardworking and always put in their best effort. There are no cliques and everyone is in almost every "group". Easily one of the best schools when it comes to both the students interacting with one another as well as teachers being well educated and giving the students the best learning opportunity possible. Overall, I would recommend SSCPS to anyone interested in attending a Charter. The staff is very helpful and give you a very smooth and easy transition regardless of what year you join the school.

Senior: I love everything! I am so grateful to be a student at this school! I left another school to come to Plymouth Norht for their amazing marketing program and I have no regrets. The teachers and guidance department has helped me so much especially when I was on medical leave. Even the ladies that work in the lunch room are so sweet! I have no doubts regarding my safety or the quality of my education. All of the clubs are so diverse and fun and I am so happy to be apart of the community. I will be very sad leaving Plymouth North and all that it has given me.

Middle School Student: I've been going to NSA since diapers. Currently, I am in the ninth grade, and I have already received access to so many opportunities. Along with education, NSA focuses on making everyone from everywhere feel welcome in our community. Sure, we have had our rough spots, but hasn't everyone? When I have trouble or drama, NSA is my safe haven to be myself. My teachers' goal is to help students achieve theirs. Honestly, so many of my teachers at NSA have helped shape my bright future. I am always eager to learn, and I always feel welcome in their classes. Along with this, I have always found NSA to be so creative and clever. There are so many fun social activities, especially the pep rallies and football games! Overall, NSA has taught me skills that will last me a lifetime. From making friends, to prioritizing education, NSA will always be my home. I wouldn't have anything else for the world.

Alum: My daughter graduated in 2011, and I am a member of the Alumni Council for Phillips Academy (full disclosure).

Even though I knew how special Andover was, I experienced an even better Andover through my daughter. She was a smart girl before, but she developed such confidence, particularly in math and science. I watched the self-doubt become controlled and I saw a true leader develop. Even when there was a disappointment, she knew that she could power through it with the skills she possessed.

And the friendships! She has life-long friends, both boarders and day students, boys and girls, athletes and non-athletes. All are smart, confident, and succeeding in their fields, now that Andover is behind them. But, you never lose Andover; it is always with you, allowing you to strive and succeed in every way.
