Sophomore: Good school, very accepting community. The way they teach and involve students in discussions is very good for taking in information and learning important information. The curriculum, although less complex, allows for space for other time, consuming things in students lives. Such as sports, social life, are many other things. classes involving math and science are very hands on, allowing students hands-on experience with things that they may choose to pursue it in life. In certain cases, such as myself, biology is a large part of the science aspect of class, allowing practice for things like lab reports and observational skills, as well, as practice with tools that will be used waiter in wife, such as a microscope, pipettes, and different methods of transferring DNA samples or bacterial samples for experimentation. Senior: The best part about LS in my experience is by far the faculty! There are so many teachers who genuinely care about students' educational journey. The wellness department is also excellent. Strong music and theater programs as well. As for negative aspects of our school, we have a bit of a reputation for drugs/alcohol, although many high schools do. And, if you are concerned about rankings, etc., LS offers relatively few AP courses. But, I have found that the honors and accelerated classes are often just as high quality as AP courses, and a very challenging and enriching environment! Senior: Although I started during covid time, I feel that my experience at Winchester High School has been pretty decent. Most of the teachers are nice and teach decently well, though some of them don’t show effort in their lessons and you can tell. The school was recently renovated so it’s very clean, the food is okay, and people at school are competitive but nice. The only qualms I have with WHS are the lack of funding for clubs and sports (students have to self fundraise, especially with clubs because those recieve absolutely nothing), and the lack of AP class offerings. We can only take AP classes starting in junior year, and on top of that, there are limited class offerings. Finally, the school isn’t that diverse and it’s sometimes hard to connect with administration, but overall it’s been a nice ride and I look forward to graduating next year.... Read 160 reviews

Alum: When I started, I was indeed overwhelmed, but there were staff who were already ready and present to help the incoming students, including me. Throughout the first year, I was excited and loved to learn from the classes because of the teachers and the support I was given. Of course, each year it became harder. I experienced: interesting learnings in the classes, struggles with being consistent in motivation, and the usual ups and downs. The downs were how I struggled with procrastinating, consistency in attending classes, and home life affecting my mood and developing depression. Despite all that, my teachers were willing to listen and provide advice for my concerns. I would like to see the school continue what they are doing so far, Newton North High School is a very good school that has been recognized by other colleges. Senior: My overall experience at Groton Dunstable Regional High School was amazing. The teachers and staff could not be more helpful. Extra help was always given to students in need. I made many new friends throughout the four years of my high school career. Playing volleyball was a great way to meet new people and enjoy the sport at the same time! One of my favorite things in High school is attending sports events. There are football games every Friday home and away as well as volleyball and soccer games throughout the week. Another great thing was there was little to no bullying. Students always got along with each other even if they were not friends. Lastly, clubs and activities are a huge thing. I participate in volunteer club, yearbook club, and best buddies club. These are also great ways to meet friends and get involved in something you like. Senior: Belmont High School has amiable and responsive teachers and guidance staff that strongly encourages racial and opportunity equality. The school allows excellent freedom under safety supervision, including no dress code, free blocks, free eating space, permission to leave campus, etc. Providing students with 1 free breakfast and lunch, with rotating and changing menus throughout the weeks, but I dislike the fact that certain cuisines occasionally run low, and tables/couches/sofas around the school are sometimes not that clean. The view is absolutely phenomenal with a great view of the pond next to the school through the giant glass panes. This school made being on zoom very interesting and educational. This school has raised me well and disciplined me with understanding on why having great behavior is beneficial to you and others. It is very diverse and has a lot of students coming from Haitian decent. There are lots of African-American teachers, the students feel comfortable seeing the amount of representation. This school is competitive in sports and encourage kids to participate in gym. Students do lots of hands on projects and work outside, and gardening. High school typically has a reputation of being cliquey, but it is possible for everyone to find their space at AHS, as most people are very welcoming. Senior: Minuteman is a great school for students to find themselves and get a jump start on their careers. Academics are definitely on the easier side, however some, but less than most, are very extreme and unforgiving. Guidance department is strong and effective, however, the social services department is a complete joke. Counselors will likely not even remember the students name half the time. If your student needs 1/1 direct services or needs a special education room after middle school, this is simply not the school for them. Bullying is non existent and incidents are handheld well.
