Realm Charter High School

Niche User: I had a really great time at my high school even though it didnt have the best classrooms or the best outdoor area or the best gym. Besides all the bad aspects of this school it was a really good school. We didnt have much money to do lots of the things that i hoped for but we at least did some of those things. The best part about this school was the people in it. The teacher and the students were the thing that made this school great. Many student supported each other in getting past their educational or personal struggles. We never gave up on each other. I am going to miss this school and all the great times I had in it.

Meadows Arts and Technology Elementary School
4 Best Public Elementary School Teachers in Los Angeles Area
- Public School
- Thousand Oaks, CA
Parent: I find it disheartening to see a one star review for MATES on this site. As the 1 star review parent notes, MATES is a Charter School run independently from the District. As such, the Administration and Staff wear many hats and collaborate with many parties to maintain and efficient, compliant and productive school environment in concert with the governing Board of Directors. Decisions are driven by the Charter, LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) set by the State of CA, the multi-year Education Technology Plan and many other benchmarks.
The MATES mission statement is: Instituting a vision that welcomes innovation, honors the past, transforms the future, commands achievement, and empowers all children through the Arts and Technology. I'd encourage any prospective family to visit the campus, speak with a teacher, look to school performance and decide for yourself if MATES is for you. Our family experience has been outstanding and I'm confident yours would be too.

Baldwin Stocker Elementary School
11 Best Public Elementary School Teachers in Los Angeles Area
- Arcadia Unified School District, CA
Middle School Student: Otherwise I would of given 4 stars, but Baldwin Stocker is really nice for an elementary school. I mainly loved my 5th grade teacher.
Academically, Baldwin Stocker is very high leveled compared to some elementary schools. So +1. Diversity is poor though, you will find more than half or half of students in the class Asian in one way or another.
Most of the teachers are really helpful and amazing - some are stricter than others, but you will all find them great.
There aren't really clubs - you have some Math Club, Study Hall, Garden Club, Instrumental Music... but they're mostly after school.
For safety, many people have booed this school after a student got a head injury. The district insisted that he just tripped over a pencil. The parents insisted that he was tripped over by another student. Anyways, that was a long time ago. The safety here is pretty average like all schools.

Bonita Canyon Elementary School

Parent: Well, it' a really good school, though the campus is tiny, and the student bathrooms? Gross. The food is from the district, it tastes disgusting, I have to bring my child lunch everyday, the only acceptable food there is the snacks.

- Norfolk, VA
Parent: Norfolk Academy provided an extraordinary educational journey for my two children, fueling their curiosity and inspiring them to explore new avenues that they might not have discovered without the incredible teachers and coaches at this school. My oldest child, who came in sixth grade, now studies engineering at an Ivy League university; he particularly loved the robotics team, as well as soccer, swimming, and crew teams. My youngest child, who is a senior at NA, came in first grade, and she has developed a passion for medicine and health, largely through the school's Global Health Fellows program and the Medical Scholars program.

Senior: I really enjoy the one-on-one classes. It enabled me to graduate early. The teachers and the administration are caring and supportive. The only downside for highschoolers is the lack of social life; however, I am very involved in community service, work and have many friends outside of Halstrom, so this doesn’t bother me.
