8 Best Public Elementary School Teachers in Windham County
- Public School
- Ashford, CT
- PK, K-8
Parent: We moved to Ashford last year and my kids have absolutely thrived! My fifth grader finally feels challenged and excited about school. It is apparent the principal and staff care a great deal about the children and their education. I have been most impressed by their approach to science and also the robotics program.

Mary R. Fisher Elementary School
9 Best Public Elementary School Teachers in Windham County
- Thompson School District, CT
- PK, K-4
Parent: My girls are going into 3rd and 4th grades and I have yet to have a bad experience concerning their school. The teachers are respectful to their students, parents, and eachother. If there are any small issues with the students, they have been taken care of quickly and efficiently. Their office staff is second to none! They know exactly where your child is at all times and help in anyway possible!!! I can only hope the rest of their school careers goes as well as they are at Mary R. Fisher Elementary!!

Charles H. Barrows STEM Academy
- Windham School District, CT
Middle School Student: Charles H. Barrows is a very good school overall but needs a little more things to fix. I have been in this school from 5-8th grade and I am currently in my last year of middle school. I share lots of memory's there and I would always remember the school for the rest of my life. But there is only a few criticism I would give to the school and that would have to be their lunch system. It does not provide enough nutrition for their students, and the food itself is not very good. I do appreciate the workers who work there to serve the school community I just don't like the system. I would also criticize the little amount of physical education they provide . Each week that I have been in middle school the amount of time given for physical education was very, very limited. You would only get gym once a week or twice sometimes only for 45 minutes a session.
