Alum: I spent 4 years at The King's Academy and it was amazing. I had caring teachers who were always accessible, small class sizes a very safe campus. One highlight of every year was when over 400 students, faculty and parents got in buses and travelled down to Mexico for 1 week building houses for the poor there. Our school has been doing this for 20 years. King's was more like a family than just an academic institution. It was an awesome and life changing influence for me!

Senior: AFE is perfect for students who don’t “fit in” in a comprehensive high school. you get the chance to participate in clubs and sports on a smaller scale, so if sports are your thing a bigger school might be better. you can take classes online, on your own, with a parent teaching you or at AFE or the community college cabrillo. I love it because I didn’t have a great time at a big school and AFE made me feel welcomed and gives me the opportunity and time to do the things i like during the day. It’s a public high school, but also a homeschool.

Alum: I had great experiences with working with the teachers and Education Specialists at Ocean Grove. Everyone I'd worked alongside during my time there was positive and wanted to get to know me as a student and a person, which have molded into some great friendships.
Ocean Grove's class selection for students can be a bit stinted. I wanted to learn a language not offered on Ocean Grove's catalog, but my Education Specialist was so invested on seeing me succeed that they worked it out so I could learn the language I wanted.
The Education Specialists also worked well with my family to answer any questions we had.
Ocean Grove was a good experience for the people, and I hope that their opportunities can be further diversified in the future.

Parent: I have one daughter who is an alumna and another in 10th grade. Kirby has been a great choice for both of my girls, giving them plenty of intellectual challenge, welcoming learning environment, and wonderful team sport experience. Students have the option to tailor curriculums to serve their passion and interests, while completing requirements for graduation. I would highly recommend Kirby to anyone looking for excellent education in a positive and friendly learning environment.

Parent: Can't say enough great things about Oakwood. Our daughter is a junior there and we're thrilled with the support the administration and faculty give all the students. She's blossomed academically but also found her passion in their exceptional STEAM department. This is a school that nurtures not just well rounded students, but exceptional kids. It has a rep as an arty school (which it is) but my kid is math/science/tech focused and it's been amazing for her.
