Senior: Newark Charter School is a great school. They have great academics as they have great teachers and great variety of courses to take. The school is also very diverse in both their student and teacher body. The school also provides a variety of clubs and activities and even if your club isn't there, you can create one and start leading it. Our sports are also good, but we aren't as competitive versus other schools around us. One thing I would improve is our involvement in sports as they should be more competitive and build facilities to help our athletes. The food that they provide here isn't good even though it is free, the school needs to find a different alternative that tastes better and that is actually edible even if it means charging for it.... Junior: My experience with MOT Charter School so far has been great! The staff and teachers at MOT are very understanding and help you throughout your struggles. They ensure the students are getting the best education. I attended MOT Charter High school since my 9th grade. I am now a junior at MOT, currently halfway through my 11th grade of high school. Parent: As the parent of two children in the lower school, I am extremely pleased with SSSAS. The Early Saints teachers make each day engaging for my 3-year-old. The monthly units the ES learn have prompted my son to apply what he’s learned to the world around him (the food unit they completed prompts a nightly discussion about which foods on his plate are muscle foods, brain foods, etc.). His teachers started a recent parent conference with 3 very specific adjectives to describe my son and given the examples they gave me, it is clear that really understand him as a whole child. My experiences with JK and K were also nothing short of fantastic; even during the pandemic the teachers were able to connect with my son. The K and 1st grade teachers have also provided my son a solid educational foundation; they have identified his strengths and given additional challenging work so that he hasn’t been bored. Senior: I’ve loved my time at SJC! It took a little bit of time to get used to as a freshman because of how technologically dependent the school is. Most, if not all, work is done on the IPad which is great for so many reasons. The student life is amazing and staff want to see you succeed.
