Parent: My daughter has gone to TAMC from 2nd-5th grade and we’ve had a really great experience. This doesn’t mean there haven’t been hiccups or maybe teachers that weren’t ‘perfect’ but seriously some of these bad reviews on here are ridiculous lol. This is her 4th year with the same after-school providers, and they are excellent as well. Helpful when there is an issue and they work hard to keep an entire lunch room of children under control. They do homework and have a fun activity every day. The teachers are probably teachers like you’d find anywhere else, some go above and beyond and some simply do what they need to, but the attitude and moral of the staff is what makes a difference. It seems like they are happy to be there, and we all know that being a teacher in this day is beyond hard. The teachers we’ve had have always been willing to help work through tough academic times and offer support or advice on how to best help my child. Front office is always helpful and pleasant.... Parent: All of the things we got from SH Memorial school is super. My child was transferred from another school to SH Memorial school and the way the school administration gives preliminary information, how they process it and do their best to expediate the whole required step for the child to resume school ASAP is amazingly super. The way the teachers welcome new students and their methods of familiarizing the newcomer with the existing students is also amazing. The academic part is also a 5-star rated quality, their teaching method, their assessment and their motivation are excellent. Nothing to add or see changed their rather to see everything as it is.... Middle School Student: I am currently in middle school at SCSC and I would consider it a second home. I believe the learning process is fit and customized to the student so that the student personally can grow as an individual in all kinds of aspects. The teachers and students are all very welcoming the moment you walk in. SCSC is not like other schools. I feel the diversity at this school is excellent. One thing that makes my school so unique is a little thing we call "100 Book Challenge". Each school day we read 30 minutes of a book of our choice that is our level. Based on the student's reading ability, we are matched with a level. We log a line every 15 minutes we read. The point of this is that if you reach a multiple of 100, you get awarded a medal and recognition of the entire school. I have not even scratched the surface of what makes my school unique and extraordinary compared to others, but I'm running out of room to write. Parent: I’m a long time parent of Benchmark Elementary. Both of my kids started in preschool and my son just graduated 6th grade. My daughter has one more year and she is very excited to be a 6th grader and finish out her Benchmark career with all of her friends she’s had for the last 9 years. The teachers are exceptional, loving, kind, attentive. The class structure is above all others. The children are grouped based on their needs to thrive, with 2 teachers per classroom, and 4 levels for math and reading. The office and support staff are beyond compare. My kids absolutely LOVE the school and are both sad to have to move on to a new school for middle school. We love Benchmark so much! I can’t say enough great things about the school and the staff.... Middle school student: There are Many things to say about this school. I am a current eight grader right now and I love this school in general. There are times where the work gets piled on top of you. Teachers give you lots of work but in general they all very much care about you. This enviornment makes kids want to learn and get better grades. The teachers encouage the students and even though some are strict, they al genuinley care about the students. The education is really good. Again, even though the students get work piled on top of them, the teaching is phemonenal. I learned way more and grew more as a student when I joined this school as to when i attended a private school. This school will and does encourage each student to get the best grades. The population is low and there are not many students so there isn't as much band, plays, sports to judge based off of what I can tell but the teachers encourage the students to do extra-curriculars as well. With my three children attending (one having had AWEFUL experiences in public school before being identified as twice gifted), they were able to freely explore their intellectual abilities and create solid lifelong friendships. All organizations have growing pains and our school may not be perfect for your student… that is an opportunity for the parent to find the right place where their student flourishes!
