Santa Rosa County School District

Parent: Santa Rosa School District is an excellent example of one of Florida’s top-notch districts. Our family has felt supported and encouraged by the Home Education Blended Academy, Navarre High School, and Gulf Breeze High School.
Our children have been afforded learning experiences and extra-curricular opportunities that other school systems may not offer. The Blended Academy Secretary has become like a family member. She has in truth helped give the most guidance to our family and is much appreciated.
The direct communication with our School Board has been, in earnest, the most challenging for homeschool families in the area. We are hopeful, as Covid fades to a distant memory and technology continues to advance, that our community will find its way to clearer thinking, more resources, and more defined communication.

Senior: Escambia county school district is pretty decent. The schools have good teachers, and they do try to give you a good education. I’ve had mostly good experiences at the school I attend. I’ve joined many clubs that are offered, and it’s made my whole experience better. They positively try to make an impact on others. I’d say it’s a pretty safe school. What I don’t enjoy about the public schools in Escambia county, is the food. The food is tasteless and sometimes cold. A lot of students dislike the food so they throw it out. Many go through the line to get one item, but are forced to get the required food; like one dairy item, 1 fruit item etc. After going through the line they throw out everything but the one item they went in for. It’s upsetting to see many students trash food. Even though the food isn’t the best, I think the food that the students don’t want should be donated, or they should order better food to prevent so much waste.
