Niche User: The Marple Newtown School District and community is one of the best! The students are highly prepared from Kindergarten through high school for life beyond high school and the "real world." As a community member, I meet many current and former students at sporting events, band concerts, etc. and all the students speak highly of the district and all it has to offer. Each student feels like a member of their school community for the greater good of the district as a whole. Sophomore: I really liked how inclusive it was. There was a lot of focus on being a close and welcoming community. The district also provided many opportunities for the students to help the community and be involved in service. If I could change anything about the district, it would be the fact that there needs to be more addressing about mental health awareness. Also, I would make it so that everyone is given an equal opportunity to express their talents and skills. At many times, I felt like there were students who were not placed in the right math level, and they could do so much better if they were in a higher place. In other words, I think the district would be a lot better if it properly placed students into academic levels that best suited them rather than keeping all the students in one level. Senior: I really enjoyed my time at Garnet Valley High School. I think the diversity is growing and our academics are getting stronger. Senior: I have been attending thus school district since I been in 6th grade. Overall this school district helped me get right. Before I came to the school district I didn't have average grades, meaning I wasn't using my potential to the fullest. I am now a senior at STEM Academy High School- at Showalter (which is one of the schools in the district). I am now the upcoming valedictorian for my senior class. Junior: The change I would like is to be able to have my lunch in the cafeteria. I miss the experience of having lunch in the cafeteria with my friends. The best thing about the school is the after-school activities. The school gives students the option to choose clubs and as many as they want. Also, they are coming up with more exciting ones. Senior: I’ve grown up in the Ridley District area, and have attended from elementary to high school. The district itself can do some improving. By this I mean they can prep us more for college, as I’ve been left confused on what to do. They should notify us more on scholarships, activities, so on and so forth. I’ve met many great people and teachers. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be here today. Guidance does help in the college bit too if you go to them directly! Senior: I have been enrolled in Southeast Delco School District since the 2nd grade. My educational journey has had ups and downs, however, I wouldn't trade it for another school district. The teachers provided instruction and inspiration to the students who wanted to learn. The extra curricula activities encouraged the students to strive to be the best and also encouraged teamwork. As a high school senior, my counselors, teachers are preparing us for entering college and becoming adults. I would rate my experience in Southeast Delco School District second to none.... Junior: Interboro High School is incredible as far as public schools go, which is why I gave it a 5 star rating. All the problems I have with it are way worse in any other public school. The teachers are great and care deeply about the welfare of the students, and the courses offered are sufficiently challenging. The guidance team is very smart, aiding in college affairs for students very effectively. The athletics are amazing, with good coaches and good teams. The student body is the only real problem- but this goes for any high school full of young teenagers with not much life experience. Overall, very good for aiding in career preparedness....
