Olympia High School
#272 Best Public High Schools in Illinois
- Olympia Community Unit School District No. 16, IL
- 54 reviews
Senior: Olympia High School is home to many teachers who are focused on individualizing each student's learning experience. Olympia has also provided each student with a chromebook to take every advantage offered by technology to advance education. However, in an effort to progress education, Olympia has adopted Standards Based Grading (SBG) and eliminated the use of a traditional grading system (A-F). The swift implementation has resulted in some confusion regarding a student's grades and what is necessary to achieve the best grade. There are also multiple activities and athletics for students to be involved in which include musical, social, intellectual, and physical options. Of course, if students wish to establish their own club, they are encouraged to do so.

Senior: This school is very good in every aspect. The school has very high standards for each student. The teachers are not just there to help with school work, the teachers here are to help you with life problems. They want to see you succeed and become the best you are. The school is very safe and has camera almost everywhere to keep us safe. I was glad to be here all 4 years and wouldn't change it at all. I'm glad to be called a Delavan Panther.

Hartsburg-Emden Junior/Senior High School
- Hartsburg Emden Community Unit School District No. 21, IL
- 11 reviews
Sophomore: Hartsburg-Emden is a small school with teachers who are able to give their students one on one time whenever they are struggling with their work. Something I wish would change would be how the students treat each other at the school. Otherwise, the staff is good and the learning experience is nice in most classes.

Senior: I've had a good high school experience. The food sucks most of the time, but there are a lot of options, most are unhealthy. The teachers of the higher classes are great (except for one), but lower ones are not so great. The administration can be rude, but they are considerate and caring when the time is right. There are many dual credit classes available to prepare you for college which is great. I feel more confident moving forward because of this. There is an on-campus policeman during all school hours, and he makes you feel safe while learning. The doors are always locked to anybody on the outside, and they can only enter after checking into the office to earn a visitor's pass. The school is very safe, and there are multiple drills to prepare for the worst case scenarios. Basically every student and teacher is white with a handful of exceptions. There are tons of activities to get involved in, and many are well-funded. Sports are taken extremely seriously. It shows during games.
