West Muskingum High School
#274 Best Public High Schools in Ohio

Senior: I have enjoyed the past four years as a student at West Muskingum High School. The teachers and faculty were very helpful. They always enjoyed connecting with the students. I had a variety of classes I was able to choose from to assist in preparing me for higher education. Our student body also had a TON of school spirit! West Muskingum utilized block scheduling for the academic semesters forcing an entire year of content to be taught in half the time. I would have preferred a different way of scheduling classes.

Junior: I go to school here at Sheridan, and yes we are in the middle of absolute nowhere, I've made many friends here, and all of the teachers form close bonds with students. The teachers truly care about our education and try to prepare us as much as possible for college. Amazing school!

Lakewood High School

Senior: All of the staff at Lakewood High School cares for your education, they want to see everyone succeed. Throughout the year they bring a ton of college resources in for students, they also bring in resources for those not interested in college, for students more interested in going into the workforce. The staff wants every student to go somewhere in their life. All the people there are willing to work one on one with you. Over the years I've seen great changes in the environment at the school. New sports and clubs have been introduced to for more students, they have also started hearing the students opinions more about the school so they can help make it a better place. My favorite example is when I came into the school it looks very dull and bland, there was no live. Now we have several murals going up around the school, we've painted hallways and even built a new student success center. Lakewood High School is a wonderful place to further your education and grow as a person.

Fairfield Union High School

Senior: Fairfield Union High School has a lot of pros and cons. It is completely surrounded by corn fields and cow pastures. It is a very tight knit school and it is great to be a part of falcon country. Alothough all of this is true, Fairfield Union is not the best when it comes to sports. We aren’t successful in many sports and a lot of students have quit and/ or stopped playing for this reason. Getting better coaches I think will help up the system and improve the success within Fairfield Union.

Millersport Junior/Senior High School
- Walnut Township Local School District, OH

Alum: I attended Millersport from Kindergarten through graduation. It is a very small school, which resulted in little diversity and a lack of resources. On the flip side all of the teachers at Millersport are very qualified and they clearly care about every student's education. Being at a small school meant that I could create personal relationships with my teachers and everyone in my graduating class. Bullying and discrimination were never a problem because it was such an inclusive environment. I graduated from Millersport in 2015 and I still keep in touch with a majority of my teachers. I now attend Ohio University and I feel as though my high school sufficiently prepared me for college.
