Chatham High School
#17 Best Public High Schools in New Jersey
- The School District of the Chathams, NJ
Senior: Chatham High School not only offers one of the best academic curriculums in New Jersey, but also offers activities for everyone. From sports teams, clubs, organizations, and performing arts, there is a place for everyone to feel accepted. There is seemingly a place for everyone, but each group tend to become very exclusive which creates cliques. This is common among young people this age, but there are steps our community can take to diffuse this issue. I would like to see more collaboration between all different types of students outside the classroom.
One annual event that helps with this is Challenge Day. About 200 students are selected each year to break into groups among peers of freshman to seniors to share their highs and lows, allowing them to feel like they aren't alone and to understand to not judge everyone by their outward appearance. More events like this may help diffuse the divide between groups and create a more accepting and inviting community.

BASIS Independent Manhattan
- Private School
- New York, NY
- PK, K-8
Parent: This is our second year at BASIS and we couldn't be happier with our experience so far. The curriculum is rigorous, the staff warm, passionate and supportive and the tuition is significantly more manageable than most NYC private schools. The administration is open to new ideas, they're responsive to critique and they're always striving to be better. BASIS is a warm, happy and inclusive place that focuses on a love of learning and the importance of making connections between subjects for deeper level of understanding.
