Senior: Where do I even begin? Hours long conversations with house parents spanning from classic literature to UFOs to chemical substances in the dorms; students walking the teachers' pets or babysitting their kids; students tutoring each other during study hall; students thanking teachers after every class; or how every student holds the door for the one behind them?...CA, while fostering a rigorous academic curriculum that challenges us to think critically and expand our perspectives, hosts an unparalleled, loving community. It's difficult to understand until you're there but the amount of kindness between students and teachers is truly stunning. Instead of hierarchy between students and adults, we're treated respectfully as equals - students call teachers by their names, and student feedback into the school is often responded to swiftly and transparently...I’ve grown more as a person these last four years than I've ever before in any other part of my life, and I've CA to thank for that.Read 98 Reviews

Parent: Two daughters are current students and it has been the best decision. They are very happy there with enthusiastic and supportive teachers, coaches, advisors and dorm parents. They have made friends with diverse backgrounds from many parts of the US and other countries. They have felt safe to try new activities, such as sports and new musical interests. Academics are challenging but they are very supported with any help they need...Read 62 Reviews

Junior: My St. Mark's experience so far has been great. The smaller sized classes allow for more individual attention and better communication between the students and teachers. There are also many opportunities available to students from community service to leadership positions. Parent: I love this school so much! First of all, we used to live in the town called Leominster, and I didn’t like the school and people at all because I was bullied by the people in that school because I couldn’t speak English and my brother went to elementary school which called fall Brook and he got punched at his arm from his friends and the teachers didn’t even call us which is bad. So my parents decided to buy a house in another town which is right next to Leominster. This town is called Lancaster. The house in Lancaster of course it’s more expensive than in Leominster. I already knew someone there already because they all work at the golf course which is where I work so. The teachers there were so great and really nice. Especially the ELL teacher. The people were very nice too. I love my school so much. Our football team got a state championship last year so I’m really proud...Read 160 Reviews

Parent: My three children have been attending SLA for five years now. The school feels like family! All the teachers know and engage with my children, even if they haven't had them in their class. Because it's a small school the students get lots of one-on-one instruction and all can participate in sports or music, not just the top 10%. My kids are participating in the honors program and are on track to attend competitive universities--I attribute much of that to the extra attention they get. Best of all, the school supports our family's values and are partners with me in raising my kids...Read 46 Reviews

Parent: Our family wishes to pay the highest of compliments to Hillside School for the management of its Spring ’20 Trimester! When academic classes at Hillside resumed online on Monday, March 30, Hillside’s faculty performed with excellence, as if the school had been operating with remote learning for quite some time. Our family was incredibly impressed with the overall effectiveness of Hillside’s remote learning program. And the continuity of curriculum throughout the Spring ’20 trimester exceeded our expectations!...Hillside School set a date & time to launch remote learning of Monday, March 30, 2020 at 8:15 am to noon. That morning, his screen lit up with images and familiar faces at precisely 8:15 am. Then, from Monday, March 30 through the last week of May, the consistency of his school day was just what we hoped for. Academic lessons began right at 8:15 am and continued up until noon. Parent: We have four children, one in nearly every program level, at Oak Meadow. We could not love this school, the staff, or the wonderfully diverse families more if we wanted to. Since I cannot keep my children with me forever and always, Oak Meadow is the next best place to home. The education is beyond top notch. I have watched children grow and move through the programs, and it is stunning to see what this style of education can do to create well rounded, incredibly informed, self assured, thoughtful, and caring individuals. I truly cannot say enough about the staff, the atmosphere, the love, and the education at Oak Meadow. I am thankful to have had nine years here already, but also to have eight more years at Oak Meadow before my last graduates. We LOVE this school!...Read 11 Reviews

Alum: I graduated from Nashoba Brooks after attending the all-girls middle school for 5 years. Nashoba broadened my education in ways that I didn't think was possible. I left Nashoba and attended an academically challenging private high school and I was clearly more prepared than my peers. At Nashoba I was given many leadership opportunities as well as the hands-on experience that I needed to fit my learning style. I enjoyed the many experiential learning opportunities, especially the trip to Mystic in 6th grade and Chewonki in 8th grade. The teachers were very supportive of my needs and always made sure that I was doing well not only academically but socially too. I loved that the "specials" (Drama, Music, PE, Art etc.) were built into the day. The projects that we did during our specials often connected to topics we were learning about in other subjects which helped to deepen my knowledge. I loved my experience at NBS and I hope that future generations love the community too!...Read 23 Reviews

Parent: I have a very bright student that needed organizational skills. I could not have found a better school for my son. It took a few years and a few dedicated teachers, but my son now totally owns his own work. There are fewer and fewer lost papers and rarely a missed assignment. The middle school math and social studies teachers really truly try to push and get the best out of their students. These teachers are outstanding. There are a few teachers that just slide by and do the minimal amount of work. The only thing lacking is sports. The school has basketball and track and it puts everything it has into the basketball program. The PE teacher is great. Parents get too involved when their child doesn’t “make the right team”. Problem with the parents and not the school...Read 4 Reviews

Senior: My high school experience at Bishop Mcnamara, I see as a privledge . Being able to come up with the finances and tools to experience a private school education is one I see now as a great investment and amazing oppurtunity. Each day when I walk into Bishop Mcnamara I am greeted with a smile, a how are you doing or a pat on the back from my administration or a staff member. I am constantly challenged to think and push myself through my variety of AP, college prep and honors courses. The challenge and love doesn't stop in the classroom. Involved in every single dance art possible, my plate is definitely a full one. But I see that my school sees art as an importance to me, so they make it a priority to be of importance to them. I am thankful for Bishop Mcnamara and how it has shaped me as a individual, performer of the arts and as a student. Parent: Phenomenal private school in the heart of Boston. We had heard great things about Montessori for pre-school but never imagined the impact it would have on our daughter, even at home! She quickly became independent, self-directed, and more aware of others needs at three years old. She would come home and do things we had never imagined she was capable of doing...She is now in second grade. She loves school because the lessons are just challenging enough because they are made for her. Every child has their own learning plan, rather than being forced to do work that is too easy or too hard as a group. The mixed age classrooms, which seemed unconventional are perfect for self-esteem and drive because kids aren’t labeled as gifted or challenged for their “grade.” She is encouraged to learn skills through her interests - currently the Titanic- which the teachers apply to math, science, reading, etc. Then, stands up in front of her class to shares what she learns - at SEVEN!...Read 8 Reviews
