Alum: I graduated from Suffield Academy in 2018 after attending the school for three years. Suffield is one of the most welcoming places a student could attend, with ample opportunity to get involved, improve on all aspects of curriculum, and meet lifelong friends. Suffield truly cares about their students and faculty. Even two years later I miss my time there, and continue to build on relationships I made at Suffield! As a Suffield Tiger, be prepared to engage in all aspects of the community, academics, athletics, the arts, and clubs. Students are encouraged to participate in the fields in which they excel in, as well as challenging them to try something new with overwhelming support! Parent: Both of my sons have had a phenomenal experience at Williston. They are both motivated students who have loved the combination of support and challenge that exists in the academic program at Williston. My older son will take his first AP class next year, and he is excited to take on that level of academic rigor. He is also involved with the arts, where he has loved his experience in the theater program. All the faculty members he has worked with have been incredibly supportive and have encouraged him to get out of his shell and try new things. He also loves the in-town location - his favorite spot is La Veracruzana (great burritos), but he also has taken advantage of takeout sushi, Pok-eh bowls, and plenty of Mt. Tom's ice cream! My younger son is more involved in the athletic program, and he has found the same level of support. Senior: I enjoyed the school for its majority of great and personable teachers that not only cared about academics but also about the well being of their students. I made great improvements in a lot of my classes because of the staffs dedication to the students. I played soccer and had the best coaches that also watched out for mental, physical, and emotional health. My junior varsity coaches helped me through a lot of personal problems as well as making me feel confident in my athletic abilities. The school events were always fun and some of the best times I’ve had with my friends. The ability to make students rivals against each other while still forcing them to work together is challenging but they found a way to make everyone a part of the winners circle. Alum: Putnam prepares you for a career in the trades rather than for college. However, I'm currently in college because of the help of my teachers and guidance counselors. They really do go the extra mile if you approach them and tell them your plans (or lack thereof). With a good student government, I think you can have great memories of Putnam. Some teachers are tough, but they grow on you after four years of seeing them around. They're very strict on fights and quickly handle any drama going on...The school looks like a mall, it has a bank, a school store, and a cafe for visitors. Alum: I took advantage of the Gateway to College program at Springfield Technical Community College in the Summer of 2017. As I was preparing for my senior year at Springfield Central High school I wanted to test out a business course before deciding my major. I took an entry-level Economics course which I loved! My professor was very formal and treated both high school and college students the same. Due to the semester being held in the summer, the course material went by very fast. The formality with quick test taken skills learned in high school made it very helpful for me to succeed in the course.
