Parent: Both of my sons have had a phenomenal experience at Williston. They are both motivated students who have loved the combination of support and challenge that exists in the academic program at Williston. My older son will take his first AP class next year, and he is excited to take on that level of academic rigor. He is also involved with the arts, where he has loved his experience in the theater program. All the faculty members he has worked with have been incredibly supportive and have encouraged him to get out of his shell and try new things. He also loves the in-town location - his favorite spot is La Veracruzana (great burritos), but he also has taken advantage of takeout sushi, Pok-eh bowls, and plenty of Mt. Tom's ice cream! My younger son is more involved in the athletic program, and he has found the same level of support. Currently, he aspires to play two different sports in college, and he has received an incredible level of skill training and competition toward that end...Read 112 Reviews

Senior: I feel I am very prepared for college. However, i did a lot of self teaching. This school gives a very large amount of homework following it’s reputation for that. There are a couple of incredible teachers that I will always keep in touch that have provided me with not only a solid education but what any teen girl would benefit from on an emotional level also. This school pushes social agendas when I feel my academics is why I am in school. if they focused more on just academics i feel they could be even greater than they they already are. I very strong student and i believe I could succeed most anywhere but with the heavy work load and a lot of self teaching I do believe it prepared me for my future...Read 82 Reviews

Parent: The Admissions department made the application process seamless. They were easy to reach; gladly returned phone calls and inquiries; and, assisted with the application process during each step. Compared to other independent college prep institutions, RMA is a small school. However, we were thoroughly impressed with the diversity that we saw during the summer camp program; We were pleased to see that it carried over to the academic year. ...The curriculum is rigorous. The staff is caring. There are a variety of extracurricular activities that are day and boarding inclusive. Any family "on the fence" about RMA should definitely consider a second look, or reach out to staff. You'll be glad you did!...Read 162 Reviews

Parent: This school is an absolute gem with a robust curriculum curriculum including performing arts, STEM (with an exceptional Maker-Space), and a dual-language and social justice component! The experienced teachers are amazingly creative and inspiring. The school community is welcoming and became life king friends. Affordable to all as well. There is a robust after-school program with many choices, as well. All 3 of my children attended...Read 7 Reviews

Freshman: I enjoyed (mostly) my time at ND. The teachers and administrative staff were (mostly) great people, the food was quite good and the chefs work very hard. The electives are always diverse and good. However, the academics were severely lacking. A few teachers didn't teach at all, and some simply knew next to nothing about their subject. There were a few gems, who were great and taught well. Many students failed their MCAS due to the fact that nothing was being taught. A few had to self teach. ...In conclusion, if you are going to ND for behavior issues only, you are in good, if strict, hands. (Or if you are in middle school.) If you are in high school and need to learn for tests and college, this school is not reccomended...Read 1 Review

Senior: When I was younger, school was a source of confidence. I felt like I was good at it and could end the day feeling accomplished. As I got older, that changed. School became frustrating. It began to make me feel badly about myself. This was so discouraging and degrading. I started not wanting to go to school, not wanting to even try. My sophomore year I knew things had to change if I wanted to have a good future and go to a good college. We found Cortona Academy and, honestly, my life changed! Cortona Academy made me feel good about learning again and helped build-up my confidence. They made school less frustrating, making sure I understood something before moving on, making certain I had a strong foundation and could successfully tackle any subject put in my path. Cortona Academy helped bring up my GPA and, most importantly, helped me feel ready for college. I no longer feel discouraged; I no longer feel like I can't. Cortona Academy has shown me that I “can,” no matter what...Read 24 Reviews

Parent: Veritas has been such a good fit for our family. Coming from a homeschooled background, we were concerned how our child would do there all day. My child looks forward to being at school everyday and especially in his classroom with his teacher. Our son feels totally safe there and had no separation anxiety. Every morning my child excitedly ran to greet the administrators at the door. He loved that he could start his day by racing them to be the first to say hello. He also loves going to memory period. He has grown so much this year. His teacher is bright, loving, fun and very patient. She takes them outside several times a day, gives them snack time and miraculously gets them to nap. It is amazing how much better his reading and social grace has gotten too. ...They have an excellent classical curriculum delivered in love. The teachers are very invested and the small class sizes guarantee personal attention. We also love the other parents. This family community is priceless!...Read 112 Reviews
