Senior: Looking at Wahconah’s overall aspects we can determine it to be a simple school. I definitely like the amount of nature that surrounds the school including the woods connecting the middle school to the high school. Teachers are for the most part, extremely caring and loving towards their students and other staff members. Academics are decently displayed, they try their best to provide information for students’ future college/work experiences. Prior to covid, my favorite experiences at Wahconah included the time were we went on a climate change field trip to Boston, class dances, pep rallies, sports events and school clubs. Now that the school is being put down because they are now building a brand new school, lots of changes will be made but I’m sure all of the changes will be for the better. The only major complaint that I have is that it is one of me most non-diverse high schools I’ve ever encountered which makes me upset to realize that must be a reason for it.... Read 92 reviews

Alum: I am an alum of MTRHS. I thought that the school prepared me very well for college in the humanities, however could have done more to prepare me for college STEM classes. The small size of the school made it so there was not always a large variety of classes offered, but it was nice having small class sizes because the teachers were able to pay more attention to each individual student. Personally, I was able to build some very positive relationships with my teachers. The school does not have particularly strong athletics but often the environment on the sports teams is very positive and encouraging even if the level isn’t high. The administration at times was difficult to deal with, sometimes seeming unreasonable, but they did make an effort to listen to the voices of students which is very important in my opinion. Like any other school, Mohawk has its flaws, but overall, I had a positive experience there.... Read 33 reviews

Parent: We love Lesley Ellis! Our kids are currently in 7th and 4th grade and have both been there since preschool. With small class sizes and a team-teaching approach, each student is appropriately challenged. Academic expectations are high, but students are well-supported and never feel stressed or unprepared. The teachers are very well-qualified and bring a depth of experience and creativity to their teaching that makes learning fun. The unique social emotional curriculum encourages kids to become self-confident and kind and has contributed towards a culture of inclusivity where everyone feels like they belong. Along with all of this, Lesley Ellis also offers an amazing visual and performing art program, unique after school activities like sports teams, ski club, and chess club, all within a very tight-knit school community. I am so glad we chose Lesley Ellis and feel very confident my kids will be well-prepared for high school.... Read 6 reviews

Alum: Gateway Regional High School was a trip and somewhat fun, of course you have your typical Mischief from students like me and others, but the richness of people that you find a none comparable to other schools, this such a tight-knit community and an experience to have. It definitely stands out when it comes to Public Schools when it comes to their Athletics and over all student friendliness :)... Read 117 reviews
