Parent: We originally considered making the change from public to private school for our girls because we knew would eventually have 3 kids in 3 schools on 3 schedules (year round & traditional). We thought we'd move our oldest to private & have the other 2 follow when they started middle school. Once we toured Ravenscroft, we decided to move all 3 immediately! We were impressed with the arts programs, athletic programs & differentiated learning opportunities. From the 1st open house to now, 2 years later, we are thankful every day we made the change. The girls transitioned easily & were welcomed by new friends. The differentiated education opportunities allow each of them to learn at their own pace. The "Lead From Here" program designed to create citizen leaders is a top focus within the school that starts in pre-k & goes through graduation. The Ravenscroft community of parents is very warm & welcoming. I highly recommend Ravenscroft to anyone considering private school in the Raleigh area.... Read 125 reviews

Parent: STMA is a truly unique school. The academics, social, and spiritual life of the school is vibrant and refreshing! Three of my children attend STMA and I wish I would have been fortunate enough to have STMA as my high school experience. The academics are challenging and students who want to do well will do well. The spiritual life of the school is truly, faithfully Catholic, not just words or going through the motions. Students are joyful and kind. Teachers and administration care deeply about their students. I trust them immensely and value their hard work and input in my children's lives. I would not send my kids anywhere else for high school or middle school! It is a truly beautiful place where kids learn how to be the people God is calling them to be in all areas of life.... Senior: My high school experience at Bishop Mcnamara, I see as a privledge . Being able to come up with the finances and tools to experience a private school education is one I see now as a great investment and amazing oppurtunity. Each day when I walk into Bishop Mcnamara I am greeted with a smile, a how are you doing or a pat on the back from my administration or a staff member. I am constantly challenged to think and push myself through my variety of AP, college prep and honors courses. The challenge and love doesn't stop in the classroom. Involved in every single dance art possible, my plate is definitely a full one. But I see that my school sees art as an importance to me, so they make it a priority to be of importance to them. I am thankful for Bishop Mcnamara and how it has shaped me as a individual, performer of the arts and as a student. I strongly believe the tools I have gained have prepared me for school after I leave this institution and then some!... Read 340 reviews

Niche User: I am in my last year at Franklin County Early College. I have really enjoyed my time at this school. All of the school staff are determined to see you succeed. They are always there to help you. Our school is very diverse and unique. This school allows you to earn your high school diploma and your Associate's Degree in 5 years. One major plus is that this school is free! It can be difficult at times, but there are resources students can use. The school offers tutoring in case you need help with any of your assignments. Parents are also included in things which is very important. I would highly recommend this school to any incoming high school Freshman.... Read 30 reviews

Sophomore: At Neuse, my teachers make it a priority to engage individually with all of their students. This is important because the teachers are showing us that they really care about us as individuals and want to see us succeed. The teachers also go out of their way to help individual students, or offer them advice. The teachers at Neuse also attempt to instill Christian values into all of the students they teach, through both encouragement and discipline. Something I would like to see change at Neuse is the amount of opportunities available to students. We only have a few sports teams, and we only compete with other schools in a couple of academic competitions. I want to be able to compete on a tennis team as well as in science related competitions. We don't have an essay contest, and writing is something I strive at. I also want to see my fellow students have the opportunities they want. My school should also be more diverse, and the administration should be more involved.... Read 18 reviews

Senior: Wonderful teachers and staff, great energy and support, and an amazing Arts department. There are a lot of ways to get involved in the school and in the community. Teachers are always encouraging us and helping us, even with things that aren’t required of them. There is a seating area outside the cafeteria which is great, and the whole school is filled with art. We have murals and an art display. The media center constantly decorates their big windows. Teachers and staff are always in the hallways in between classes, ready to assist with anything. Important information is communicated quickly and efficiently. We have access to a number of resources for many different things such as job searches, college searches, scholarship opportunities, clubs, events, contests, etc. Most students are respectful and accepting to others who are different from themselves. They encourage each other to be successful and get good grades. The school has an amazing environment for growth and learning.... Read 456 reviews

Middle School Student: As a middle schooler who graduated from this school, I felt like my experience here was very good. At first, some kids will judge you for being the new kid but if you’re assertive towards them they will stop. The teachers at this school were kind and caring. The administrators were nice and responsible. Most of the students were fine and respectful. I really have no problems with this school expect for a few students and the size of the the building. Parent: We have had a wonderful experience during our first year at VCA. Our daughter's teachers have all been wonderful - she comes home every single day sharing something new that she's learned. They have encouraged her curiosity and instilled an eagerness to learn, which will serve her well in her academic journey. She has been loved on incredibly well by everyone in this school, from teachers, staff, and students alike. Our home life has been impacted positively by her attendance at VCA, as she shares stories and lessons from the Bible to her younger siblings and encourages conversation about Jesus and his will for our lives. She has made such sweet friendships this year and we are grateful that she has started young in surrounding herself with positive people who lift her up and who she has grown to love and care about too. We did not initially intend to enroll her in private school, but putting her at VCA has been an unexpected blessing that we are so grateful for.... Read 75 reviews

Parent: Oakcrest has been a wonderful place for my daughter to learn and grow. Since she arrived in 8th grade, she has grown and blossomed into a more Godly, confident and well-learned young lady. Oakcrest is a rarity in this area: an academically rigorous school that also puts a premium on Godly character development. Plus, Oakcrest truly looks to partner with parents in the education of their daughters, and has many events planned to grow and strengthen parents and families throughout the year - a win/win for all of us! The teachers and support staff are amazing, as is the new campus. Everyone connected with this school from top to bottom is amazing!
