Parent: I met with this school when I moved to NOVA. I have two kids graduated from Pinnacle Academy. First of all, the teachers are so passionate and dedicated to their craft. My kids had incredible opportunities in fine arts, and other extracurricular activities. The school administrators recognize the children by name and have a loving community...Secondly, the school has the powerful and challenging academic curriculum. I followed my kids improving themselves at finding out and expecting higher from themselves as well. Now, my daughter and my son get accepted good universities with good scholarship. The school has a dual credit enrollment opportunity with NOVA College for eligible students that help students get acceptance good colleges...They loved the school environment and they were happy.Highly recommend!Read 24 Reviews

Parent: Flint Hill has been a wonderful experience for our family with two children in the Lower School. The teachers truly know each of my children. They can't wait to come to school every day and leave every day excited about the next day. It is warm and nurturing while also being sure they are challenged. I am amazed at the things they learn and how well they understand what they are learning. I can't personally speak to the Middle and Upper Schools yet and know they deal with issues all school with adolescents face but hear the balance, challenge, offerings and college counseling is well worth it...Read 82 Reviews

Senior: I like the atmosphere of this school very much. Both the teachers and officers are very enthusiastic. They will help me with patient if I encounter any problem in study or life. The type of courses is also very rich, which can meet my various needs. The classroom environment is very good, the number of students in one class is not much, therefore the teacher can take care of each student's learning state. We also have some self-selected activities, which enriches my free time and gives me a chance to study and perform...Read 39 Reviews

Alum: I would say it was overall a good experience. I was in this school system from K-12. Elementry and Middle school provided good teaching staff, extracurriculars, and resources for women in STEM. Senior: The community here is absolutely amazing! Walking around the halls, you basically know everyone you see and the environment is so welcoming especially to new students. The close community is Christ-centered and familial. I love the teachers here! They actually CARE... They are always so willing to put in the extra time and effort to ensure that everyone understands the lesson while also keeping a great balance of humor and teaching. school has also strengthened my faith and encouraged my walk with Christ. My biggest problem with Trinity is the choice of electives. There's really only like music, art, and some academic electives such as philosophy and economics, but they're definitely not as interesting as electives that you can find in public school. Oh and the lunch at Trinity is amazing. Students pay for special lunch at the beginning of every quarter to get Chick-fil-a or Domino's, and the school works hard to create grade bonding events to promote community...Read 41 Reviews

Junior: PVI is pretty great! I love this school's commitment to the Catholic faith and its dedication to giving its students the best education possible. Theology class here is one of my favorites, and I've loved learning about different aspects of my faith. Every senior here writes an essay on apologetics for theology class, and I can't wait to do that next year. PVI promotes Catholicism without feeling condescending or preachy in any way, and I have tons of friends who aren't Catholic and still love going to school here. I definitely recommend Paul VI!...Read 172 Reviews

Parent: Ad Fontes Academy has been an absolute blessing for our family. Our daughters love the school and we are thrilled with the quality of the Christ-centered education. We are a military family and moved to Virginia with high school and middle school aged children. Moving at their ages is difficult, but Ad Fontes helped make the transition as easy as we have ever experienced. The teachers and administrators truly love the children. The students have been exceptionally welcoming. The upper school retreat at the beginning of the year was a blessing and allowed our daughter to meet and be welcomed by a new group of friends before classes even started. Our kids have loved the house system. The exceptionally dedicated team of teachers challenge our children to develop habits of mind and communicate very well with parents. To be quite honest, my wife and I don’t particularly like living in the DC area, but we love Ad Fontes so much that we are trying to stay here as long as we can!...Read 27 Reviews

Senior: I have had an amazing experience at my school! The teachers are very caring, encouraging, and always helping students succeed. Even with us being virtual during the last school year, teachers put the work to make this tough year better for everyone. The staff members are also considerate and makes the students' experiences as comfortable as possible. My favorite thing about my school has to be our student body, it is exceptionally diverse which is an amazing thing. We are able to learn and share with one another our experiences that can create bonds with each other. Our school pride is something that cannot be forgotten, no matter how big or small, we support our school's teams/clubs in any competition because any win for our school makes us happy! Senior: There is so much to say about this school. From my six year experience at Seton, I have grown so much as a person and in my Faith from the academics and the strong Catholic community that makes up the school. Even though the curriculum is challenging, it pushes each student to become intelligent and disciplined young men and women. What's more is that Mass is offered twice a week as well as monthly Holy Hours and a chapel that is available all day for students to visit the Blessed Sacrament! Parent: I have an only child who entered Kindergarten in 2018 at Signal Hill Elementary school. I didn't know what to expect and I was a bit concerned because so many moms groups are always talking about "school ratings" and say how "bad" schools are in Prince William County. I was so pleasantly surprised with the teachers, staff and academics at Signal Hill Elementary School! I am extremely pleased with this school, and I feel lucky that we live in this school district and boundary for Signal Hill Elementary School. Sophomore: I was in Mount Vernon High school and it was a pretty old school, but it had more to it than the looks. When I had entered my sophomore year did I realize how precious of an opportunity I was given when entering this school. It had AP, IB, and dual enrollment classes. All in one school, crazy right! The staff their for help in general or college was always there for you to go to and to talk. I found that talking to my counselor helped me a lot through their advice's. But like everything when there is good, there is always something bad. One of the things that I didn't like there was the school culture and food. I mean food is food and I should be grateful, but it was just so bad that I just couldn't eat it except for the salad. The school culture wasn't the best either, when there was a meeting for like a concert or end of the quarter meet up there would barely be any anybody of each grade. It kind of set the moral of the school down. Altogether it's still worth it coming to MV HS...Read 1 Review

Senior: When I was younger, school was a source of confidence. I felt like I was good at it and could end the day feeling accomplished. As I got older, that changed. School became frustrating. It began to make me feel badly about myself. This was so discouraging and degrading. I started not wanting to go to school, not wanting to even try. My sophomore year I knew things had to change if I wanted to have a good future and go to a good college. We found Cortona Academy and, honestly, my life changed! Cortona Academy made me feel good about learning again and helped build-up my confidence. They made school less frustrating, making sure I understood something before moving on, making certain I had a strong foundation and could successfully tackle any subject put in my path. Cortona Academy helped bring up my GPA and, most importantly, helped me feel ready for college. I no longer feel discouraged; I no longer feel like I can't. Cortona Academy has shown me that I “can,” no matter what...Read 24 Reviews

His reading is excellent, his spelling is fantastic, his math is exceptional, and his knowledge in Christ and God is amazing. I especially like language arts and my teachers truly have a broad understanding of the world and inspire us. I have read books including Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, The Power of One, Frankenstein, Henry IV, Henry V, Oedipus The King, and many more. I came in 7th grade and I thought I would have a hard time, but that was not the case. Our daughters continue to be challenged academically, while being taught in a loving Catholic environment. The teachers are not only very capable and motivated to teach the children, they are approachable and make a habit of communicating expectations (via newsletters, email, conferences, etc.). ...In today's world it feels even more critical that children grow up learning about moral choices and character values along with academics.
