Parent: Cross Creek Charter Academy is an amazing school! The teachers and staff are wonderful and do such a fantastic job at helping all children succeed in their education. The Moral Focus curriculum really sets Cross Creek apart from other schools. My children have learned from an early age what words like compassion, perseverance, courage and gratitude mean. Junior: The experiences here are amazing! Being able to fly and build planes, work on real-world engineering projects, and go to school at the airport are very unique. Middle School Student: Of my time going here for the couple of days I've been here, It's a really good environment. I like how the teachers and staff are very committed to your overall success as a student. I would recommend this school to anybody that has a child that is considering, or anyone that wants to send their child to a school of excellence and believes in their Childs potential to learn and achieve. There are some Cons though. If you want your child to be in a challenging environment, full of expectations, I would recommend considering a different school. When I first got here, I noticed that the curriculum wasn't very challenging. I was then moved to Advanced Math. I wish they had more Advanced class options too. So far in Advanced Math, I still haven't had that challenge I've wanted. At my old school, they considered me a gifted and talented student. Alum: Grand Rapids Christian High School is a fantastic choice for all those looking for a place where they can be challenged academically and athletically. The teachers are phenomenal, being both highly qualified and engaging, and the notion that "no student is left behind" resonates strongly with the teaching style at GRCHS. Additionally Every student has numerous resources available to them ensuring that they succeed. As a founder of an athletic club at the school, the athletics at GRCHS are outstanding. The complexes are spotless and every student-athlete has access to state-of-the-art training equipment with highly qualified coaches from well respected organizations such as the NFL. However, despite its excelling academics and athletics the student body lacks both in diversity and inclusivity, and it's not uncommon to see a lone student searching for a friend group to join. Sophomore: The majority of the teachers are nice and like to help students when it comes to achieving their goals in the classroom. The sports program is pretty competitive and has a variety of sports to choose from. I'm hoping that minority inclusiveness and ethnic diversity will improve in the future. Remote learning is pretty tricky and isn't as intensive and engaging as in-person. There well enough of a variety of clubs and activities. The majority of students, parents, and I agree that there is poor judgment when it comes to handling issues generally, which can also be said for the Grandville district as a whole. Readiness for the future like college and career planning is overall pretty good. The music program is pretty good, many outstanding achievements were made by those involved. Freshman: I have had a great experience at Catholic Central. The student community made me feel welcome, and has truly been life changing. I can guarantee that no highschool in Michigan will better execute the high school experience. The teachers do a phenomenal job at interacting with the class and making learning fun and interesting. The students and parents do a great job at making the school as best as it can be. The facilities also are perefectly tailored to the needs of the students. From each closet, to the field where we dominate in football, each facility is made to perfectly support the amazing experience that recieve by coming here. While the price tag may be quite significant, you cannot truly put a price on the perfect education because it is priceless. Senior: Okay imagine this: a high school setting. The hallways of the high school are bleak: one cannot tell the difference between a math classroom or an English classroom - both are stale, colorless, and as flavorful as a jail cell. The school only seems to care for their athletes, while other departments are left in the dirt. A majority of the students are Caucasian, with maybe a few POC in a grade. The only flag shown in the whole school is the American one. Teachers care only about grades and their own reputations. This is not East Kentwood. When you step into the halls of East Kentwood, you are immediately greeted with hundreds of flags from all over the world. There are students from . Heck, my class of around 600 had students from 37 countries, with at least 20 different countries spoken. Teachers actually care for the needs of their students and provide options after high school. Senior: I would recommend Grand River Prep High School to any student wanting to challenge themselves in academics, however even an average student who doesn't want to challenge themselves can succeed. The school offers a variety of AP course included AP Calculus AB/BC with an addition of one hour of study time to any students taking three AP course or more. Tutoring are available twice a week. On Mondays after school, students can participate on a club of their choice or they can use that time for tutoring. Throughout sports sessions, the gym is mostly open to students wanted to train for conditioning or just want to workout. So the school is great, there is rare fighting breakout, the stuff is awesome, students are pretty diverse, I've had a good experience finishing my second of high school at Grand River Prep....
