Junior: I’ve been going to Patrick Taylor for about four years now. This school has greatly advanced my education in ways that average Jefferson Parish schools could not. Taylor has improved my ability to think critically as well as my math and technology capabilities. This school has gotten me used to a heavy work load. It’s truly a school that prepares its students for college. The school culture, however, is fairly disappointing. The sheer amount of work we’re given is often overwhelming. I, as well as many other students, find that we hardly get any sleep since we stay up so long doing homework. It keeps the majority of us exhausted and depressed. In addition, there aren’t very many students in the school, so the social pool is very limited. It’s very restricting. Even with these downsides, Patrick Taylor is a good school to attend...Read 144 Reviews

Senior: Amazing school! Unbelievably challenging though! This school is where memories are made and truly makes you work hard. If you are going through something the teachers are right there beside you guiding the way. I can’t tell you how many times I was having a bad day and the teachers here lifted me up. People always say they “hate” Dominican but in reality they hate how much they have to work to pass and how much they really have to try instead of doing one one assignment per night. If you want a loving community and a school that will prepare you for a successful college degree then go to Dominican!...Read 201 Reviews

Senior: When I was younger, school was a source of confidence. I felt like I was good at it and could end the day feeling accomplished. As I got older, that changed. School became frustrating. It began to make me feel badly about myself. This was so discouraging and degrading. I started not wanting to go to school, not wanting to even try. My sophomore year I knew things had to change if I wanted to have a good future and go to a good college. We found Cortona Academy and, honestly, my life changed! Cortona Academy made me feel good about learning again and helped build-up my confidence. They made school less frustrating, making sure I understood something before moving on, making certain I had a strong foundation and could successfully tackle any subject put in my path. Cortona Academy helped bring up my GPA and, most importantly, helped me feel ready for college. I no longer feel discouraged; I no longer feel like I can't. Cortona Academy has shown me that I “can,” no matter what...Read 24 Reviews

Senior: My overall experience at John Ehret can be considered a time where I made tremendous growth. Despite the chaotic environment from some students who are a danger to others, there have been many great people I have met over the years. This school requires you to come out of your shell and show people who you are due to the massive population. Just like every school, there are good teachers and bad teachers. The office administration was not focused on the better behaved students, so they were also punished with restrictions due to their inability to contain or control their more violent students. Over my 3 years, I was able to improve my character and be more expressive. I was allowed to discover talents in Computer Science and other areas that I did not know I had. And I was able to meet people who have forever changed my life...Read 176 Reviews

Parent: This school is a family atmosphere. You and your family are embraced, welcomed and made to feel like family to all faculty and staff. There have been times where I felt administration has said, commented or added opinions that were not their place and it overstepped boundaries and crossed lines, even if it was meant out of concern or our children's best interest. Some things should not be said or advised when it comes to family/home situations...Read 1 Review

Niche User: St Rosalie is a very good school. Parents who don’t get what they want will always find something wrong. They will look for a reason everywhere they go!My grandkids attend and my children attended. Enrollment was 1200 before Katrina and before the oil companies started moving out. That was 15 years. It’s a small school now with some of the same great teachers and administrators! You have to increase tuition to implement everything parents would want and they’d rather go on vacay then pay for education. Go to public school!...If you need a free laptop and magnets to validate a school shame on you! People don’t want to pay for education they want you to give it to them, that’s why we have public education! All the Westbank Catholic Schools will eventually close because of high tuition rates! What a sad world we live in when it makes us happy to knock other people and places down because of our misfortunes!...Read 4 Reviews

Alum: I am an alum of the class of 2021. I attended Episcopal for 7 years. I switched from Episcopal from a highly rated public school. The facilities at Episcopal are unmatched by other high schools both academic and athletic. While the facilities are unbelievable, Episcopal is made special by the of the staff of the students. Everything I experienced at Episcopal was amazing with the exception of the administration. The administration does not think through a lot of decisions and is not respected by the students and a lot of parents because of the incompetence. Other than the current administration tearing down what previous administrations have built alongside a great community of students and alumni, the school is unmatched by any high school in the area and a lot of universities...Read 116 Reviews
