Parent: Storm King is an extraordinary school in every respect. The teachers and administrative staff are filled with integrity and professionalism. Every member of the staff cares deeply about each child--and it shows. As importantly, teachers and administrative professionals are equally accessible to all students. During the pandemic, the entire school acted with bravery and wisdom. They persevered and yet were incredibly careful about maintaining an exceptionally healthy environment. Yet, the most wonderful part of the school is the student body itself. I have never met finer, more caring students. My son loved being here. He never felt bullied by anyone. He was accepted, loved, respected, and cared for by everyone. This school nurtures students both socially and intellectually. My son grew in every way and eventually was accepted to Cornell University. In his words: "Dad, I would do it all over again." That's the best recommendation from a student himself. Alum: Going to Don Bosco Prep was the best thing that could’ve ever happened to me. Whatever you wanted to do while there, you were supported by all faculty and stuff while also being pushed by other students to succeed. Academically, the school’s AP and Honors classes are for the most part taught by some of the wisest people I have ever met. They make sure you are prepared for every academic challenge you will see in the future. On the sports side, they provide a great amount of support for the athletes and are extremely flexible when I comes to fitting in academics alongside athletics. Overall, you can tell that they care about the students at Don Bosco Prep the moment you step on campus, something I did not feel when I visited Saint Joes or Bergen Catholic. Parent: Administration listens to the kids when they say they need help and/or want to add specific classes. They add new teachers to accommodate students wants and needs as much as possible. I’d like to see higher quality food offered. Possibly locally grown/organic options. Maybe local farms would be willing to donate and/or give a discount?! Primarily a boarding school, parents are not as involved as non-boarding schools. Senior: My high school experience was pretty great! At Cornwall high school the teachers are very helpful and very personable. I'm currently a senior and have been enrolled in three college level courses which were all very challenging but with the help of my teachers and the NHS tutoring center i excelled in them! The environment is what you make it, some people have so many friends and have the time of their life in Cornwall but others struggle. In my opinion the students at Cornwall are very nice and include you in a lot of things you just have to reach out and talk to them. There are so many clubs at Cornwall and sports are a huge thing. The football team won the state championship two years in a row and everyone was super supportive of them... the town even held a parade for the team. Senior: I love how diverse and accepting the student population is. The education level was always at the top and I can truly say I've learned a lot. Being an athlete, musician, and honors student has always been quite the handful, but I have a lot of resources at the school to help if I ever needed it. However, there are opportunities for the school to improve, such as holding all students to the same academic standard. Senior: Currently in my senior year at James I O’Neill High school, I feel that the school made me into who I am today. Not only did I make lasting relationships, but I was free to experience new things; what high school is all about. From anime club to fashion club to Red Cross Club, you are able to meet new people and find out what you like. This high school pools in students from Highland Falls, Fort Montgomery, West Point, and Garrison. Although O’Neill is on the smaller side, it gives students the opportunity to truly connect and form relationships with not only their peers but also the faculty. This is one of the reasons we have O’Neill graduates who went off to Harvard, Brown, Princeton, and so many more great opportunities. Like many schools, there are excellent teachers and teachers that are not your favorite at O’Neill, but they all have one thing in common: they want the best for their students. Go raiders!... Alum: I found the teachers to be pretty good quality when I was at M-W Middle School. Middle School at Monroe-Woodbury seemed to feel structured, secure, and the students were contained for the most part and not able to get out of control. I can't say the same about the High School though. However, some of my best, more practical classes, like Home Economics, Typing, and Tech were taken at Monroe Woodbury M.S. as well as excellent X Country and Track programs.... Read 12 reviews

Senior: John S. Burke is the a wonderful school. The administration is perfectly balanced between being there to help students, while retaining a "real world" persona. Parent: Our children absolutely thrived at The Birch School last year. During the height of pandemic isolation our kids made deep connections with their teachers, the other students, and themselves. I never dreamed this would be possible during virtual learning! With the small class sizes, the unwavering presence of the teachers, the guiding philosophies of the school, the organization of the learning, and the magic of the children our kids feel like they've found their fit. Mutual value and respect has led the way for learning and growth. The ease in which my kids moved through this challenging past year is a testament to what The Birch School is doing.
