Parent: I was previously unfamiliar with the classical education approach but it focuses on critical thinking and learning a subject matter by example instead of memorizing or listening to long lectures. My first grader is reading above her level because she is sent home short stories every night that she can master and that increase in difficulty. I was originally concerned that class sizes were too small and my children would have few options for friends but they quickly made many friends, including students from other grades. It's also heartwarming to see the interactions between older and younger students. We've never heard of any bullying. Technology is not allowed (at least in younger grades) and is also discouraged at home. Social media/internet content issues aren't a problem because most parents on the same page with this. Senior: Very little diversity but great people and community and i enjoyed my time there. I made the greatest friends ever while attending. But I did notice staff is a bit ignorant towards other cultures. I myself being a muslim felt out of place and as a black muslim as well it didn’t help much more. Lot of students have n-word scandals but no one really gets in trouble for it. We’re known for our fights which happen quite often i think the most recent one was 2 days agai at this point in time. Senior: Wheaton Warrenville South is a good school. While I was there, they had many clubs and after-school activities for you to join. Some are involved in doing community service while others focus on keeping the school grounds clean and healthy. There is no limit to what you can do at Wheaton Warrenville South especially since you can make your club if you can find a sponsor. The teachers and staff are all nice and understanding. Most try and get involved in school activities and participate in events like the assemblies we have for, homecoming, winter break, and even prom. One year we even had a bunch of sports cars come to the field and drive around the track. Senior: Marmion Academy is a wonderful school. I love the brotherhood of all the students, and the fact that everyone is there for each other. Students rarely bully each other, and everyone respects everyone. I don't have any enemies, and I can call most of the students there my friend. I enjoy my friends at school so much that will even step out of my comfort zone just to be with them or see them laugh. We have a college counselor who makes sure we are prepared for college. Senior: West Chicago Community Highschool is a pretty good school when it comes to academics and culture (clubs/sports/activities), but my only issue is the "lack of care" from the students end. The facility is awesome but it being a predominantly, Hispanic based school, shows the worst-er side of the half.
