Alum: My cousins and sister attended Northfield Mount Hermon. Visiting them and hearing about their experiences, I'd dreamed of attending the school myself. When I was admitted, I was thrilled! The four years I spent at NMH were everything I hoped for and more. Academically, I was challenged and rewarded. Socially, I was awakened and embraced. Personally, I was impacted forever. The friends I made here are the deepest I have, almost 20 years later. I am eternally grateful that I was able to spend such formative years at such an incredible institution. If you are seeking a school that is constantly striving to do better and expects the same of their community, this is a place for you...Read 133 Reviews

Senior: I like the atmosphere of this school very much. Both the teachers and officers are very enthusiastic. They will help me with patient if I encounter any problem in study or life. The type of courses is also very rich, which can meet my various needs. The classroom environment is very good, the number of students in one class is not much, therefore the teacher can take care of each student's learning state. We also have some self-selected activities, which enriches my free time and gives me a chance to study and perform...Read 39 Reviews

Alum: I graduated in 1985 from Thayer High School. My high school years were some of the best years of my life. The teachers were wonderful and very helpful. I had two special teachers that gave me encouragement and gave me advice when I asked them for their advice. My Senior year was the best. The Guidance Counselor even helped when I was a half a credit short. I was able to pick the Science topic to receive that credit...Read 2 Reviews

Parent: This school is academically outstanding. It challenges and supports students. Rules are laid back but the administration and faculty are incredibly responsive, involved, caring. It is a small school and lacks some resources for things like athletics, but those can be supplemented with town leagues. We couldn't be happier with our first year...Read 1 Review

Alum: I am a recent graduate from Saint Michael Catholic School in Brattleboro Vermont. I am so lucky that I was given the opportunity to go to such a wonderful school! I joined in the eleventh grade and was immediately welcomed in by not only my class but the rest of the school as well. The teachers have a truly amazing dedication to making sure every student is cared for and academically challenged. They go out of their way to come in early so that you can have help with any homework you don't understand. They constantly try to improve their classrooms and are fully dedicated to making sure every student gets the most out of his time there. The students are well behaved and are genuinely happy learning at the school. Small class sizes make it possible for every student, no matter what the grade, get the academic attention he or she needs. Every employee in the building is one hundred percent in and that made going to Saint Mike's a true privilege...Read 2 Reviews

Works Here: I love working at Four Winds School. As a teacher, it's so wonderful to have an opportunity to make deep, years-long connections with my students, and to know that they are truly in an environment where they can learn and grow at their own level and pace. Unlike when I taught in a traditional public school setting, I can honestly say that each and every student learns every single day, which is extremely heartening to me as an educator. If I had children, I would absolutely send them to Four Winds School because I know they would not only receive an excellent education, but that they would be supported socially and emotionally. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions about our small school!...Read 5 Reviews

Parent: As a teacher who has taught 12 years in a public school setting, I would have never imagined choosing private school for my sons. After a tough year in kindergarten, my oldest son struggled and didn’t show much academic progress due to large class size. After much thought, I realized that a smaller class size is what he needed to cultivate the best learning environment...After researching all the available private schools here in Southern Frederick County, I was dismayed by the few options nearby. After thoughtful consideration, Barnesville fulfilled all of my expectations as a teacher parent. It provided small class sizes, a great amount of time spent outside, many cross-curricular learning opportunities, and a strong community. The teachers are extra caring and it was evident during our time distance learning. If you are looking for a school that offers meaningful relationships where your child is given many opportunities to grow and learn, Barnesville is for you!...Read 12 Reviews
