Senior: The academics are phenomenal. Some of the teachers truly care about the students and their successes. However, some teachers are very inexperienced and do not know the content they are teaching. The core values of Lexington Catholic are a very attractive part of the Catholic school education, however, sometimes they can get in the way of students well-being, education, and experience. Some teachers and administrators restrict experiences and conversations about pressing current events, topics, etc. While there are flaws with the administration and faculty, the student body is a close-knit and supportive community...Read 164 Reviews

Sophomore: West Jessamine High School staff is just amazing! I love love love it here and the programs that are offered to students—academically and athletically. I myself have been apart of the varsity soccer team and have felt nothing but love and support on top of being in NHS and serving as an FFA officer. The academic programs offered through surrounding colleges and the AP college board are nothing other than the best any student and parent could ever ask for. Overall, West High is an excellent place for personal success and growth!!!...Read 146 Reviews

Middle School Student: I have had a great time at West Jessamine Middle school. This school has standards that aren't impossible for students to achieve, but they are challenging. When I first came, the school didn't give off an intimidating vibe. That's good because if a school is intimidating for students then it can be stressful. The administration does an excellent job at helping students with anything. They have counselors, a family resource center, and other things as well. There isn't a whole lot of drama at this school so it's easy for students to become friends. Bullying isn't a big issue here but it is addressed every now and then so that way students know that they shouldn't bully people, and what to do if they happen to witness bullying. Some changes I would like to see is the way time is managed. For example, I would like more time to socialize with my friends because I can only ever really socialize during lunch. Not all of my classes are with my friends, so more time would be good...Read 3 Reviews

Senior: I love how TPS loves their students like their own children! These students are those who need a second chance in getting their education and TPS welcomes them with open arms! Parent: My family absolutely loves The Lexington School. The smaller classes are perfect for my kids - whether they need extra help, or an extra challenge - the smaller classes allow for both. And TLS is always so welcoming - so many of the students (even in different divisions) get to know each other through the Buddy program - my PreK student loves when a big 7th grader waves at her down the hallway and calls her by name!...Read 28 Reviews

Parent: Initially sought out this school as an alternative to day care. They offer several Pre K classes starting at age 2! Fell in love and both children now attend school there. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed yet structured and they cater to each of my children and encourage personal growth and achievements in academics. The smaller class sizes really allow for the extra attention that every child can benefit from. You can feel how much each teacher/ staff cares; they know your child by name and know you as well. The family like atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for! LOVE our experience here and LOVE MQHR!!...Read 2 Reviews

Parent: I love everything about Templeton Academy! They are very supportive of my son's challenges and provide it when needed. The teachers are team players with the parents as well. The project based curriculum is awesome! It gives the students the chance to learn to work as a team and also use critical thinking skills. The class schedule is unique as well where the student will take 2 courses per semester for 10 weeks and still get all their required credits. Even though school is virtual right now, my son has met some friends. Oh and the class sizes are nice and small. Another thing I love about Templeton is how they praise the accomplishments of their students. My son is featured on their social media pages for winning 2 scholarships for being a philanthropist. I highly recommended Templeton Academy for a middle and high school choice. You won't be disappointed!...Read 25 Reviews

Parent: My kids have been attending Basis since before the pandemic, and we are so impressed! Rich academic curriculum, good inclusion of the arts, excellent opportunity for differentiation based on student needs. The teachers are dedicated and so are the parents to the kids' success. While the administration has been bumpy as the school has gotten established (only 5 years old), they earned their stripes during the pandemic. Organized, safety-focused and diligent about communication. We supplement school with sports leagues and scouting outside of school, which many parents do. Easy to do given the extensive choice you have in the DC area. Also appreciate the international study body with impressively bright students from all over the world. A real meritocracy, unlike other private schools that admit based on VIP status or connections/donations. In the next few years, this school will only continue to advance its place in the rankings...Read 43 Reviews
