- Brighton Area Schools, MI
- Rating 4.04 out of 5 287 reviews
Alum: Brighton High School is a great school. I had fun while learning my four years there. My most favorite classes were English, Digital Art and Math. I’m grateful for the classes I took there because I think most of them teach you about life. For example: I took a math class in my last year there; I learned so many things like stock market, credit, bank accounts, how to buy a house or a car. Now I’m thinking to start investing with stocks because I feel confident with the experience I got there! I also took an entrepreneur class where I created my own business and went to a competition where I won 100 dollars. I strongly believe those classes are good for young students to succeed in life. Brighton high is an amazing school where I felt I got the help I needed to learn a lot of things. The professor are interested in the students and their success.

Senior: The teachers and educators really seem to care about their students. I have had multiple teachers who have helped me through hard times and still frequently check in on me to make sure I am doing well. They go beyond just caring about grades which is really a good feeling. There is a strong sense of community among East students that you don't feel anywhere else. The social hierarchy you hear about in high school is not apparent here, it feels like everyone is kind of looking out for each other. The amount of classes they offer is great, the only thing I wish is a higher selection of AP or IB/ Honors classes.

Senior: I really liked the size of the classes and the overall environment of the school. I believe that there could be improvement involving the teachers. There are a few GREAT teachers who really know what they are doing and are amazing at their jobs, yet there are others who just read the textbook and don't fully understand the concepts themselves. The sports are amazing and they are like a second family. The sports programs are great!

Parent: The teachers, assistant and administrators at LCS are second to none! They care about each and every student and go above and beyond to ensure each one has an opportunity to thrive academically. Each of my children are so grateful for the loving, Christian environment where they are able to hear about Jesus every day. Excellent student to teacher ratio. School has moved to Brighton across from Brighton High School and is now very centrally located. I love that, thanks to the help of LCS, my oldest will graduate this year with a semester of college completed - free of charge! My children love playing sports at LCS, including cross country, soccer, volleyball and basketball. Coaches are top-notch in each sport. Livingston Christian Schools is a total blessing!

Senior: I absolutely love the atmosphere of a small school! Whitmore lake provided me with the opportunities to succeed inside and outside of school. I was able to be a part of any extracurricular I wanted to and get good grades in my classes. Whitmore Lake has made me feel welcome every single day that I go to school there and I wouldn’t change it for the world . The atmosphere that the school brings is impeccable. You can really see that their best intentions are with the students and they prioritize safety.

Go Like the Wind Montessori School

Alum: I came to Go Like the Wind when I was in first grade from another Montessori school, and finished the program through eighth grade. My time spent there was very rewarding and gave me skill sets that I use now and will into my future. I was able to grow as an individual while making very close relationships with my classmates. Even though there was a lot of work, I was able to build necessary time management skills needed no matter where I go in life. In upper elementary and middle school I learned to work closely with a group, sometimes it would be a good group and other times, it would be difficult to get the project done. My mom informed me that dealing with those situations is no different than what she deals with at her work. I feel that I was blessed to attend Go Like the Wind, I had the best learning experience and the greatest teachers!
