Senior: I am going to be a senior at Neuqua Valley this upcoming school year. There is great diversity throughout all the grade levels and minority groups have tripled in size throughout all my 3 years. The staff are very passionate about teaching the youth and are open to helping students during their lunch periods in the ARC. There is great variety of clubs, intramurals, sports, and activities at Neuqua! Cohesively, the students are nice, including, and make you feel welcomed into school. If you were to look at the school geographically, you would see that there are two campuses in the area. There’s a gold campus for the incoming Freshman, to get eased into the high school environment, and there’s a Blue campus for the upperclassmen! It is another great upside to Neuqua as it helps the freshmen overcome school anxiety. Junior: As a junior who has been at Naperville Central for all three years of my learning career, I am excited to continue my senior year here! Naperville Central is a highly academic-focused high school with many course opportunities. Central offers honors, dual credit, and AP level classes to challenge students to reach their full academic potential. Teachers truly care about your education, as they frequently check in with your progress. Not to mention, Naperville Central has a variety of clubs so everyone can get involved in activities/hobbies that they enjoy. I truly feel a sense of community here, as Central has a built-in period called SOAR to focus on a student's physical, emotional, and mental well-being. My favorite part about Central is how diverse it is. The curriculum in each class makes sure to go over how different aspects of our society affect every culture. Senior: I'm currently a senior and I honestly really like the school. Most of the teachers I've had impacted me in not only my academic life but my outside life. I've learned many new writing skills from my past English teachers that have helped me get into AP/honors classes. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. Lots of teachers are chill and willing to be flexible with dilemmas that might affect datelines etc. Especially during this time due to the pandemic. The school also provides an abundant amount of clubs, sports, activities and higher education opportunities to take part in. I've made many connections with students in all grades along with a couple staff members. I am sad about having to leave all of this in a couple months. For any future students reading this please take an advantage of all the opportunities this school has to offer! Alum: Crone Middle School does an excellent job of preparing students to conquer the rigorous courses of high school. I only attended Crone during my 7th and 8th grade, but those years cultivated my love for excelling in academics. I came from a different middle school in the IPSD School District, and I am glad to say Crone is my personal favorite. This middle school has great accelerated programs and also a fantastic music program. I highly recommend for students to get involved in chorus, orchestra, or band. The sports teams here set up student-athletes to succeed in high school. I've never felt unsafe in the halls of Crone, and I've had some dedicated and inspiring teachers. Senior: I love Benet! It is a place that is focused on academics and athletics, but it is also a place full of awesome people and teachers who genuinely care about the students. While the work load can be overwhelming and sometimes very stressful, it is honestly a place that follows the rule "work hard play hard". For every hard or challenging part that Benet has to offer, there is 5 more extracurricular activities or clubs to enjoy yourself in. Freshman: I loved going to Lincoln a majority of the time. There were so many opportunities for me there and I got to try a lot of new things. Junior: Wow. I have to say that the academics at this school really push you which can definitely be tough on a middle schooler. I remember not going to school one day because I was so stressed about my home work. That being said, the teachers really push you to be better and I personally think I learned very well at this school. I personally never found a club I could really get into (the music program is really based on favoritism and everyone knows it). In addition, the food is average but way too expensive for a school lunch. For diversity, I would say the school is almost entirely Indians and white people. Most of the students came from decently wealthy families which made me, for one, feel very out of place. I was a new student here in 7th grade and I had absolutely no idea where to go with no help. Senior: It has been a great experience for me. I grew as a person and a student as the years go by. I have made friends that i can consider close brothers to me. The lacrosse team at JCA was a brotherhood to me because we were always there for each other no matter win or lose. The band and drama club were the best thing to happen to me because I became close to everyone there. The Kairos experience is once and a lifetime opportunity and i grew more as a person over there. The education here is great because the teachers make the lessons easy to learn and are helpful if you ask questions. it is a great community to be a part of, so i highly reccomend attending.... Alum: It is a school of culture with magnificent staff and an incredibly broad range of academics and activities. There is always something to do and ways to get involved. The atmosphere of the school is welcoming and the memories formed their will last a lifetime, both the great memories, and the not-so-great memories (not-so-great memories will happen anywhere, but at Oswego East those bad memories are few and far between). Looking back, the only things I would change is the vending machines! They didn't work half the time. That and their food selection. Many will take time out of their day to sit down with students and help them in any number of ways, from tutoring to mental health support.
