Senior: Hinsdale Central is an amazing and very diverse school. Central does a wonderful job accommodating to the needs and likes of all the students. There are over four hundred clubs and activities that are opened to all and it is very easy to start your own club. I did! The only thing that I would change is the stigma that students at Hinsdale Central have to excel in their studies and sports. Many students have a lot of stress to get into the top-tier universities and not let their parents down by not getting all A's. If I could go back and change one thing, I would make sure that all the students knew that they shouldn't worry as much about grades and schools, instead to have fun and relax because high school only happens once in your lifetime.

Parent: This is an excellent high school in so many ways. The school pride is abundant. With a relativelysmall student population, students get lots of individual attention from teachers. The curriculum is challenging and a wide variety of classes are offered. The student body is diverse, the teachers and administrators are experienced and there is a strong focus on rounding out the student experience with many available sports, clubs and activities. A true gem of a school!

Parent: As a parent of two students (one graduated in 18, the other 2020, I am so glad that we moved into the DGN territory. They totally excelled not only mentally but also emotionally and physically. We moved from a very small town south of I80 where the schools are emotionally damaging and fall way below standards on the intelligence scale. That is why we moved. My kids have met and excelled here at DGN. We are so glad we moved. I now have a Sophomore in college achieving a 4.0 and a Senior with over a 4.0 GPA. That wouldn't have happened if we stayed in the south of I80 school where they push football and nothing else. Thanks DGN you keep doing a great job!

Middle School Student: This is the best school in the area! There is so much diversity and the staff cares a lot about the students' education. We are well known for our academics and always come out as #2in the Top 10 highest scoring schools for state standardized testing. Overall, the entire school district is amazing!

Alum: Monroe Elementary School is the best school elementary school in District 181. Monroe is an amazing school in a nationally recognized school district. Monroe has the perfect amount of students and has phenomenal teachers! Additionally, Monroe has lots of school spirit even though they have no real competitive sports teams! If you're considering moving to Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills, I highly recommend moving to the Monroe area. Go Mustangs!

Senior: Downers Grove South High School has a very positive and welcoming environment. The staff is always friendly and willing to help you when you have a question or problem. I have attended this high school for three years and I am looking forward to this upcoming school year. My school offers many different types of resources that have been really helpful. For example, I am able to attend college presentations to learn more about a particular school and to see if I am interested in applying. There are also Math and English resources to help students build their knowledge in those particular areas. In addition, teachers are willing to meet with students to help in the morning, during or after school. Overall, I think this is a great high school to attend!

Middle School Student: Clarendon Hills Middle School was a great experience for me! Very positive environment and is one of the best in the state of Illinois. It felt like a typical public middle school but was more sophisticated, in my opinion.

Alum: When I first came to WHS as a freshman, we had just received a new principal (Mr. Baldermann, Principal of the Year 2017) who really changed the school for the better throughout my 4 year of being there. Our school was recognized for three national rankings: U.S. News & World Support "Best High Schools rankings", America's Top High schools 2015, Washington Post "America's Most Challenging High Schools 2015."
It was such a great community that was accepting and supportive. Also, this school had such a great staff!

Alum: The teachers here genuinely care about their students so much and create a friendly, hard working environment that builds community and trust. Cross country is highly competitive here with committed, experienced, likable coaches, but all of the other sports are not competitive. It has a great number of clubs here for it's size. This is the most diverse school I have witnessed and socially most students feel included and welcomed by other students. After going to high school, I realized how great the teachers and community was here at Westview! It was a great middle school to build a foundation on before high school. (Also it has a great band program and is strong overall in education but I was very unprepared for my science courses in high school).

Parent: Small class sizes, excellent teaching staff and a community feel. You will be hard pressed to find these class sizes anywhere else in DuPage county. My children have benefitted immensely from the amount of attention their teachers have been able to give them because they are dealing with class sizes of 17-22 not 24+ there are also several TAs in the building, a great arts program and the best librarian in the land. The staff at Manning is forward thinking and always looking to do what’s best for the students.

Parent: I have one graduate from WJHS and one currently enrolled and I could not be more pleased. The classes are small, giving attention to students that is so valuable and my students feel as if they are getting personal attention. The staff is incredibly kind and giving of their time. WJHS also has a required volunteerism aspect for graduation and I applaud it. Students volunteer within the community and learn the value of helping within the community. My children have learned so much from this opportunity. The school admin is attentive to my students needs and we cannot say enough good things about them. Highly recommend WJHS for people looking for a quality school that is not overwhelming in size.
