Alum: I have loved my time attending Hopkins school and wouldn't trade it for the world. Parents who have ambitious and bright children may have found their match. Hopkins school's courses not only challenges the student, but introduces them to a new world of possibilities. I have made life long friends that I am still in touch with now. Hopkins is not just a "good school" it is an environment of gifted learners who, when leaving the community, are more than ready to face the challenges college brings. But aside the academics, they become part of a life long family. The warm welcome I felt first day of seventh grade, relieved all my stresses about a new school and ever since then, I have had a bright journey through my years at Hopkins. The multiple clubs and extra courses Hopkins gives students, opens doors for your kid to explore their passions. I would recommend this school if your kid appreciates a challenge and new opportunities. Lets go Hilltoppers!... Read 80 reviews

Parent: My son transitioned to HHCDS in 3rd Grade. We were in search of a school community where he could grow and academically and socially . He recently described his teachers as trust- worthy ! That really shows how well children develop positive relationships with instructors and they feel safe. Dedicated teacher go above and beyond. A wonderful school community! An added bonus was how well the pandemic was handled. Kids didn’t miss a beat !... Read 98 reviews

Senior: I made the most of my experience with the school. There were things of the generic "high school experience" that I felt I missed out on like actual pep rallies and color runs and field trips. There are good and ok teachers but it's easy to get along with most of them. The work is hard but rewarding. Teachers are almost always available when you need them. Food is ok but pricy but the lunch ladies are absolute gems! But there's a large lack in diversity, I feel it's because of the high price tag but whatever.... Read 172 reviews

Parent: I am a parent of two alum and a current high school student. The teachers and academics have been instrumental in preparing my kids to excel in college. Both my graduates are in extremely challenging, highly ranked programs and both find that they have an easier time handling the college workload than their peers. Our favorite part of the school, however, has been the tightly knit community feeling that started in the lower school and continued through graduation and beyond. We are excited about the new esport program and the technological/media opportunities coming to our new downtown campus. Recent renovations in our historic buildings have also made the main campus more comfortable and compelling.... Read 66 reviews

Parent: The academic and social environment at the school is excellent. Their "No Romantic relationships" Policy during school time removes a lot of the normal distractions of boy-girl attractions and jealousy and allows students to focus on their academic studies and true friendships. It is a testimony to the school that many of their current teachers are former students who have come back to give back to the school that gave them their start. The international boarding students also provide a rich and varied environment fo the students to be exposed to different cultures and ideas. Running a small school is not easy due to the constant pressure of money and resources but fortunately, the school has developed a strong relationship with the University of Bridgeport so that they can get access to their library, gymnasium, sports facilities and Dining Hall. I would definitely recommend this school for anyone looking for an intimate Prep school environment.... Read 35 reviews

Parent: Overall this is a great private K-12 school. Our child is being challenged academically, he is surrounded by staff that cares, is in a safe environment and is receiving a wonderful Christian foundation. The class sizes are perfect. Unlike our former public school experience, here we feel we are part of a close knit community and have developed lots of new friendships. My only wish for a change would be more emphasis on sports, especially for boys. I would definitely recommend this school!... Read 74 reviews

Parent: I am currently a freshmen parent at St. Joes and I have to say that I adore this school and everything that they stand for. Halfway through his freshmen year, I've watched my son grow so much. He knew no one when he arrived and has already made a core group of best friends. His teachers are supportive in class and his guidance counselor is AMAZING! Anyone looking for a private school in CT should definitely visit St. Joes - either at an Open House (that's how we found them) or by getting a tour. Everyone is so friendly and we can't wait to send our daughter there in two years. One other note - my son is a person of color (Latinx) and has not experienced any discrimination issues at all (something we were concerned about from his middle school experience). The overall diversity of the school could be a little better, but so far, there has been nothing but respect between all of the students.... Read 238 reviews

Parent: As a parent of three ND graduates, I found Notre Dame to be a safe, nurturing, and intellectually challenging environment for my children. The teachers are fabulous and the atmosphere for learning is evident. The administration is caring and responsive and the faculty and staff go beyond the daily classroom instruction to be there for their students -- whether it be after school help, moderator of a club(s), or cheering on students at a sporting event -- you won't find a more dedicated administration/faculty/staff. My children were given the tools to succeed - not only academically but socially and spiritually. Notre Dame's campus ministry and service/outreach programs are second to none! While at Notre Dame they were given the opportunity to serve others - near and far. The lifelong lessons they learned through these programs remain a big part of their lives today. Notre Dame also gave them the gift of making life long friendships. Notre Dame is truly a family!... Read 201 reviews

Alum: My time at Kolbe Cathedral HIgh School was short but sweet. Kolbe Cathedral High School was an amazing experience in just one year I became more knowledgeable about college than I have been for my entire college career. Students at KCHS showed their "cougar pride" wherever they are. I was a student athlete and being a student athlete meant that I was able to witness this "cougar pride" first hand. During my tenure at this school I was able to maintain high grades whilealso participating in exrra-curriculm activities, this is something I would be able to do without the supportive teachers and awesome guidance counselors.... Parent: Our son has been at St. Thomas’s-affectionately known as STTS- for the last three years. Since day one, he has enjoyed his experience at this school- the dedicated teachers he’s had and the wonderful friends he’s made. STTS thinks a lot about the child and the child’s everyday experience. This has been especially important with the rise of COVID- for all of the children, big and small, to have help navigating their new world and the feelings that come up as a result. Their level of care as we continue to navigate the ever-changing parameters of this new normal has been thoughtful and unmatched. Through it all, they’ve kept community spirits high and incorporated some fun for the kids as well. It’s been great being a part of the STTS community- we couldn’t have made a better choice!... Parent: I am a former Cold Spring parent with three (very different) children who attended this wonderful school. Cold Spring gave my children so many gifts, among them: love of learning, a strong academic foundation, social and emotional awareness, especially kindness and empathy. They thrived at Cold Spring. Now that they are in college, high school and middle-school, I clearly see where their Cold Spring experience reaps dividends. They love to learn and work hard --not just for a grade but for the fulfillment of gaining new knowledge. They get along well with their classmates and know how to approach teachers for help. They are kind and resilient. I attribute these wonderful qualities to their Cold Spring days when they were guided by the amazing, talented CSS teachers to seek out knowledge with joy, work cooperatively and independently, and discover what riches come from positive effort....
