Alum: Recent alum here, fantastic school for academic development. The teachers here are top notch and the relationships they foster with students is extremely unique at the high school level. We were spoiled at Webb and I constantly am reminded of how much I was blessed to attend a school that is so enriching in several areas. By FAR the best school academically in the area, and nothing within a 40 mile radius offers anything better or even remotely close to the quality and personalization of a Webb education. Beautiful campus, quality location, top notch. The ONLY negative gripe I have with Webb is the college admissions staff and their deceiving system that is inherently unequal. They claim to use a system based on "fit," but instead cater to a practice reliant upon getting as many seniors into 10% of colleges as they can. Senior: Overall it was a good experience. The one thing I would change is the layout of the classrooms. There should not be classrooms in far parts of the school, away from all the other classes. If there needs to be different sections to decrease congestion, then there should at least be more classrooms in that area. Sophomore: I'm a student taking the MBacc course at Elite Open School. MBacc course gives us a completely different opportunity of learning from the original high school course. MBacc class goes on online and follows the form of the class called the forum that is made by Minerva University. In the forum, we meet teachers and students living in different countries online. The advantage that I found in this course is that we are doing 'real' learning, not just studying for exams or university. By doing student-led classes and lots of presentations, we learn what we have to learn in the real world and relate every topic to each other. Whenever I take the class, I feel like I'm really learning something very useful and meaningful. Even though there are some parts where we have many work-loads for every class, a small number of students in class, and different time-line with teachers and other students, these factors also make us more productive and have real close relationships with the class!... Junior: I’m terms of education, Wilson is a great high school to attend. During quarantine, virtual school wasn’t so bad except for the part where we had to show our entire face on camera. I was still able to take in the full learning experience. My math teacher Ms. Young, would stay after class in her zoom for any students that needed help. Most of the time when I stayed it would only be us two. It was very reassuring that she cared and was willing to help her students improve. Wilson has other great teachers that I would love to mention, but I’m running out of space. Besides the teachers, the students also make Wilson the great school that it is. I’ve made many friends through clubs and sports! The girls basketball team is like another family to me. Its like having 14 other sisters who I can rely on and look up to. Sophomore: I really like this school because it gives the students a chance to express themselves. This school also gives you a look into college is going to be like. Not only are you on an actual college campus throughout your high school experience, but you're able to take college classes from Mt.Sac professors. You have the exact same schedule as 1/4 of the students in your grade, so it's super easy to make friends. It's also easier to make friends since it's an international school, all students are coming from different cities so no one knows each other and you have to make new friends. Only downside is all of the class are extremely small. There is around 500 students for all 4 grades, and only about 120 students in each grade. This makes the graduating class really small, and you basically know everyone, which can cause problems with drama. Parent: I had two sons attend Arroyo Pacific Academy (APA). One son had some learning issues; but his teachers took the time and effort to make him feel welcomed and respected. My other son had just finished his freshman year at a larger school in LA; but wasn't too enamored with the commute, so he wanted a school closer to home. He wound up transferring to APA where he, too, was welcomed and nurtured by a caring, compassionate, and very competent staff. One might think that because APA is so small, it might not attract great teachers. I can attest that isn't the case at all! As a sophomore, my son just got "5's" on his AP Biology and AP Psychology exams! The staff, teachers, administration are all top notch. If you have a son or daughter that may have learning issues or would just enjoy a smaller school setting where teaching is truly focused on the student, I would highly recommend you try out Arroyo Pacific Academy.... Senior: I really loved going to Ontario Christian because the school focuses more on a student as a whole, rather than just academics. Ontario Christian encourages their students to pursue their different interests by having flexible coaches, teachers, and staff. The faculty supports multi-sport and activities students by letting students take tests earlier and providing homework early in case students are going to be absence due to sports or other activities. Senior: Bosco Tech is an amazing school that I will always hold close to my heart. Though it is an all male Private Catholic High School, I have been able to cherish all the moments that make me the man I am today. This school has helped me become a better person, son, and older brother towards my younger sister. The education and teachers at Bosco Tech are phenomenal as I feel prepared to leave Bosco and have the ability to succeed in college. Though I love my school very much the one thing I would change about Bosco Tech would be to update the buildings and bathrooms. Most of the restrooms and the classrooms haven't had any updates since the school opened in 1955. The only significant update each classroom has received is an air conditioning and heater for when the weather gets too hot or too cold.
