Parent: Cross Creek Charter Academy is an amazing school! The teachers and staff are wonderful and do such a fantastic job at helping all children succeed in their education. Freshman: I have had a great experience at Catholic Central. The student community made me feel welcome, and has truly been life changing. I can guarantee that no highschool in Michigan will better execute the high school experience. The teachers do a phenomenal job at interacting with the class and making learning fun and interesting. The students and parents do a great job at making the school as best as it can be. The facilities also are perefectly tailored to the needs of the students. From each closet, to the field where we dominate in football, each facility is made to perfectly support the amazing experience that recieve by coming here. While the price tag may be quite significant, you cannot truly put a price on the perfect education because it is priceless. Senior: I would recommend Grand River Prep High School to any student wanting to challenge themselves in academics, however even an average student who doesn't want to challenge themselves can succeed. The school offers a variety of AP course included AP Calculus AB/BC with an addition of one hour of study time to any students taking three AP course or more. Tutoring are available twice a week. On Mondays after school, students can participate on a club of their choice or they can use that time for tutoring. Throughout sports sessions, the gym is mostly open to students wanted to train for conditioning or just want to workout. So the school is great, there is rare fighting breakout, the stuff is awesome, students are pretty diverse, I've had a good experience finishing my second of high school at Grand River Prep.... Junior: The diversity at the Potter's House is greatly recognized and celebrated. There are students from many countries around the world and as a student, you get to hear about the different experiences your peers have had. Most of the teachers are great and care about you. However, some of the policies of the school are a bit excessive compared to neighboring schools, and the administration claims it is so Potter's House is "unique" and "does things differently." The Christian aspect of the school is great, but it is difficult to share you opinions safely if they are different from the majority, because the school is able to find anything possibly offensive. A majority of students receive tuition support from donors, which is great, but it means the students body is expected to "show off" in a way with performances throughout the year, and making sure there is a diverse group of students in photos and advertisement. Senior: South Christian is a great place to go to high school! The education I have received there is fantastic, thanks to the knowledgeable teachers who care deeply about their students. There are lots of extracurricular opportunities, so it’s easy to get involved. The administration has also been taking initiative the last few year to improve student mental health, which I love! The only downside I’ve experienced at South has been that it can be a little difficult to find your place or feel like you fit in. However, the counseling department is working to see that change. Senior: My experience at Tri-unity Christian High School has been very positive overall. I became a member of the school in 2016, which was my freshman year. Immediately upon entering, I made several quality friendships that have lasted throughout my tenure as a high school student. Teachers and facilitators have been some of the most important people in my development as a person and my learning growth. Tri-unity has also been an important influence on my spiritual life as I have grown and matured the past few years. The academics that I have chosen to undertake have proved to be mentally stimulating and positive. Senior: I really loved this school, I wouldn't suggest going there for a really long time especially if you want to attend sports and have big extracurricular activities. However if you want a small family and good bonds I would suggest it, and I have had a great experience here and wouldn't change all the memories or experiences for any other school. Junior: It overall has a challenging curriculum that is very rigorous. If you take certain classes there will be no break. I would like to see more parent involvement but also a more diverse culture. It’s a small school and cliques form easily. If you aren’t in a group, you will probably be excluded for awhile. I wish there was more of an outreach. Overall the education is great! Senior: I transferred into Wayland Union High School in the 9th grade. I was really scared to be moving and going to a new school, but as soon as I arrived, I was given a PAL. My PAL showed me around the school and answered all the questions I had. She was extremely kind and stayed with me until I felt that I was ready to move on my own. Ever since, I have been very involved by joining lots of sports and have had many amazing coaches and teachers who have always done whatever they could to help me and to cheer me on. They constantly ask if I need anything and do their best to make sure I understand what they are teaching. The staff are always trying to keep school spirit up and do many things to keep the students active and engaged. Out of the many schools that I have been to, Wayland is by far my favorite.... Senior: I sigh with sentimentality as I reflect on Potter's House and the ways in which my ten years here have shaped me. The name of my school comes from the verse Isaiah 64:8 which says "we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand." And I can't help but smile as I realize that God really has shaped me; I have developed a resilient confidence, better social skills, and appreciation for the wonder of this world. As a very diverse Christian school, The Potter's House has a very particular environment. My school centers on community which I love, but personally I've experienced an excessive amount of social problems among peers and I would have loved to see more academic organization, administrative responsibility, and encouragement to accept one another, especially at a place where diversity, and ethnic inclusion are highly boasted. Sophomore: The school is small and has a family feel to it. High school has a chance to connect and talk with the middle and elementary school. I am in 10th grade and take four electives during the school week. All the school lunches are homemade and taste amazing! Personally, my favorite part of the school is the faculty. I noticed that they actually try to have a relationship with you. Once our class did really well on a test and the teacher bought us all drinks at a local coffee shop!
