Langford Area High School
- Langford Area School District, SD
- Rating 4.2 out of 5 5 reviews
Sophomore: So far, I have quite enjoyed my educational experience at Langford. I believe it has offered me many opportunities and experiences that I could not get in bigger schools. For example, one good things about Langford is that (due to the small size) every age group is within the same building. We are all loving and interacting with all age groups here in South Dakota and I believe this type of high-school to elementary bonding is really important. I also believe that Langford gives kids the chance to participate in everything possible. Unlike other larger schools, you don't have to pick and focus on one extracurricular activity. I, for example, participate in volleyball, basketball, track, science clubs, math competitions, cheer-leading, band, marching band, choir, music small groups competition, yearbook, pep-club, and am currently class president. It makes for quite a busy schedule, but the fun I have with my classmates and teammates is worth it. I recommend Langford Area.

Waubay High School

High School Senior: I actually ended up moving to Waubay in the 8th grade. And before then, I had had my fair share of school options. At first, it was a little hard to fit in -- you'll find that with small schools. Why? Small schools have this family aspect, where everyone knows each other and they truly do treat each other like family. But after a couple of months, I started to mesh in with the students, making friends. I also really liked the teachers. Not only do they treat you like they're a teacher, but they also bring in this aspect where they can easily become your friend. Plus, they will teach you everything really well. That's probably what I liked the best: the teachers.
