Parent: My kids have been attending Basis since before the pandemic, and we are so impressed! Rich academic curriculum, good inclusion of the arts, excellent opportunity for differentiation based on student needs. The teachers are dedicated and so are the parents to the kids' success. While the administration has been bumpy as the school has gotten established (only 5 years old), they earned their stripes during the pandemic. Organized, safety-focused and diligent about communication. We supplement school with sports leagues and scouting outside of school, which many parents do. Easy to do given the extensive choice you have in the DC area. Also appreciate the international study body with impressively bright students from all over the world. A real meritocracy, unlike other private schools that admit based on VIP status or connections/donations. In the next few years, this school will only continue to advance its place in the rankings...Read 43 Reviews

Senior: I began attending Jefferson High School my junior year of high school. I was greeted with so much love and support from both the teachers and the students. The environment here is different than that of any other school. Students strive for excellence and obey the rules. I have privileges here that I would never get at my old school simply because the students can handle it. The lifestyle at Jefferson High School is very relaxed in the halls and competitive in the classroom. So many of the students are very smart which creates healthy competition between the students. Overall, I have loved my experience at Jefferson and I have nothing bad to say...Read 2 Reviews

Senior: The teachers at South Nodaway really care about their students and their success. They are there for the students not for a pay check. For a small school they provide a plethora of extracurricular activities and other opportunities to compliment their education in the classroom...Read 21 Reviews

Alum: King City is very friendly. There are many after school activities and the teachers are really open and helpful. Education and sports are taken very seriously here and there is a lot of school pride. Everyone knows each other and new students can often warm up easily and quickly with students and teachers. Because it is a small school, the classes are smaller but there is more one-on-one relationships and assistance between students and instructors. The only downfall would be that the cafeteria food can be disappointing at times and the building is shared between K-12. A lot of the school is newly renovated and the gyms are clean...Read 8 Reviews

Parent: i have two kids at TCS, now 7th and 8th grade, and both have been there since pre K. TCS offers a rigorous curriculum integrated into a unique, one of a kind in the area outdoor, adventure, and experiential education program. Experienced and dedicated teachers. Great facilities and equipment including outdoor gear and a second campus at the LaBarque conservation area. The adventure education experiences give students an unmatched sense of accomplishment in overcoming challenges of the outdoor, "real world" classroom. This prepared my kids to be leaders and face future challenges, both in education and in life, in a way that is just not possible with only teaching in the classroom. The outdoor classroom concept does amazing things. We love TCS!...Read 13 Reviews
