Freshman: I've been here since the seventh grade. I'm gonna be totally honest, it's an incredibly expensive school and my family is a high donor. Unlike in my previous school, teachers are connected. It's not one of those seemingly universalized experiences where its 50/50 about teachers caring. More like 80/20, and that 20 still have their charms. Though the student body are what really pulls it together. The makeup of the school is split down the middle between preppy party kids (that have their qualities) and the other half of the nicest, most motivated kids you'll ever meet. Though its middle/high school. There's drama. Its not always fun. The administration has some fundamental flaws. In that it seems as though they care more about their endowment then their students. Facilities is slow to accommodate, still no NB bathrooms, nor gym accommodations, nor trans accessible binaried bathrooms. Anyhow I love my school 8.4/10!... Read 62 reviews

Senior: Bergen Catholic is an extremely culturally diverse high school. There is an unbreakable brother-like bond between the student body. I made unforgettable memories and made lifelong friendhsips. It is an indescribable experience having the opportunity to attend a high school surrounded by faculty that supported me every step of the way and made sure all resources possible were available to ensure my success. With the constant support and aid from both faculty and peers, I feel comfortable and prepared for my upcoming transition into college. Going to school every day surrounded by brothers was truly an unforgettable experience. My day-to-day journey at Bergen Catholic was truly memorable and one I wouldn't trade for the world. Alum: Going to Don Bosco Prep was the best thing that could’ve ever happened to me. Whatever you wanted to do while there, you were supported by all faculty and stuff while also being pushed by other students to succeed. Academically, the school’s AP and Honors classes are for the most part taught by some of the wisest people I have ever met. They make sure you are prepared for every academic challenge you will see in the future. On the sports side, they provide a great amount of support for the athletes and are extremely flexible when I comes to fitting in academics alongside athletics. Overall, you can tell that they care about the students at Don Bosco Prep the moment you step on campus, something I did not feel when I visited Saint Joes or Bergen Catholic. Senior: I love Immaculate Heart Academy with all my heart! The sisterhood atmosphere and friendly environment that it invites has been perfect for me. Alum: Hawthorne Christian Academy is my favorite place in the world. I attended from Kindergarten through 12th-grade, and every day was a wonderful experience. Senior: I attended Paramus Catholic all four years of high school, and from those four years gained great experiences. The facility is filled with many friendly teaching staff, and administrators, and an upbeat student body. From the people like the security guards, to the janitor they will make you feel as comfortable and open as possible. The academics at Paramus Catholic in my opinion are fairly easy, but still require some attention and focus in order to achieve your academic goals. The one and biggest thing that I wish would improve at the school is how much help, and support the staff give when in terms of starting your college journey. Senior: Apart from a Christian education, which this school does very well, there are advantages and disadvantages to the small private school education offered by Eastern Christian. On one hand, students get lots of individual help and attention. On the other, there are far fewer opportunities and resources available to students as compared to a larger school. I wish I had been able to explore more clubs and activities during my time in high school, and I wish I was able to meet more people outside the typical private school demographic. Alum: I graduated from Westwood Regional High School in 2021. Prior to the pandemic, I really enjoyed it. They offer a wide variety of extracurriculars beyond sports such as art, theatre, music, culinary, and competitive science, math, and engineering teams. The curricula itself wasn’t difficult, however, time consuming. College Prep level classes were a piece of cake (pretty much busy work), while honors and AP classes were more challenging and application based. For the most part, the teachers seemed passionate about their jobs. Specifically the english and performing arts teachers. Parent: Sending my daughter to IC was the best decision that I have ever made. She is currently a sophomore and is doing well academically because of the fantastic, caring teachers that ensure that she strive for excellence. The rules apply to everyone and there doesn't seem to be a hierarchy of cliques or favoritism. My daughter has an extended family at IC in both the administration and her colleagues. She comes straight home from school and studies for several hours. I am so very impressed with her new found work ethic and I attribute it to the faculty and school curriculum. Sports are a plus there with coaches that go above and beyond for each girl/team. The school is spotless and the grounds are impeccable.
