Niche User: Saint Joe's is truly a remarkable institution in the State College area. The school community has done a commendable job at navigating the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining a high level of academic standards and student engagement -- a tough task in these times! The area has a number of adequate schools - but Saint Joe's is obviously something exceptional - academic rigor, leadership development, incredible opportunity to grow and participate. Students who otherwise may have done "alright" in another school or worse, gotten lost in the shuffle, EXCEL at Saint Joe's. Parents and students will grow in faith, fellowship, and service as part of the Saint Joe's community.The pillars are not just advertised - they are LIVED at Saint Joe's. Niche User: The staff is very friendly and the students are very kind to one another. I feel like the auditorium/cafeteria/gymnasium is kind of cramped for classes having PE class because when it overlaps with kid's lunches there isn't nearly enough room for the kids to release their energy. The nature around the school is very pretty and the playground is a nice outlet for the students to release some energy. Junior: I liked the wide variety of classes offered at Bellefonte. I also liked how much the school and the community supported the Arts. I did not like most of the teachers employed here. Some were very good and very passionate about what they taught, but most did not put the effort I would have liked to see into their teaching. I also felt the "block days" were not a good use of my time. I think that teachers need additional training before teaching block days. The time is just not filled appropriately. However, the wide variety of AP classes as well as honors classes makes up for the poor teachers. Students have opportunities to earn a semester of college credit for less than half the cost of in person college classes.... Read 152 reviews

Parent: My son is only in first grade, however I have been continuously impressed by svrcs! My son is doing amazingly well in all subjects and socially. I think it's great all the opportunities svrcs gives us as a community. They have agricultural programs as well as stem programs. They offer free breakfast as well as bags of food from their pantry for underprivileged children. 1/3 of our school is special needs which gives us an unfair advantage on test scores. I live that the class size is small! The school provides all school supplies for every child except a backpack!... Read 11 reviews

Senior: I have been going to this school since I was in pre-school. As I have grown older and have now become a senior I have noticed some things about my school; the elementary programs are stronger than that of the high school, teachers are very easy to interact with and they try to help as much as they can, while it is kind of them they do tend to make things too easy, favoritism is played quite often, we have little to know recourses/facilities to do things, everyone knows everyone very well, and you feel personally known. Overall I love my school even through all the little things I am frustrated with. They provide a very firm Christian foundation and help to grow your faith in many ways, almost too many ways if thats possible.... Read 8 reviews
