Alum: Unlike other traditional high schools, the Brunswick County Early College is unique in its own way. With an extremely small class size, students are able to form close connections with not only other students, but teachers and staff as well. It is a extremely supportive environment where everyone wants to push you to achieve all of your goals and dreams. With its dual-enrolled program with the local community college it is an extremely cost-efficient and good choice for many students who are worried about financials. Overall one of the best decisions I ever made was being a part of the firebird family!... Read 138 reviews

Sophomore: I have currently been enrolled at South Brunswick High School for 2 years. I am currently in the top of my class, however I find it difficult to succeed. Our school district lacks the understanding that students need to be challenged. Recently, they have decided to cut multiple AP classes that are not only beneficial to GPA, but also to preparing students for college. South Brunswick only has a small proportion of kids who push themselves in taking advanced classes. Now, if a minimum amount of students have not signed up, then the class is taken away. Unfortunately, fighting for advanced class is a common issue not only in our high schools, but in our middle schools. It is become increasingly harder for students to compete against larger schools. We shouldn't have to struggle to increase our academic well being, and in preparing ourselves for college.... Read 118 reviews

Parent: We simple love GMS. My husband and I are continually impressed by how well the teachers know our children. We laughed and cried when we read their first report. A lot of emphasis was put on manners and life skills; Things that you need to learn any other subjects. They have met them where they are and scaffold their learning. It has a small family feel. Each classroom is a part of a larger community and everyone in the staff makes you feel welcome. Our children are learning to love learning. The classrooms are inviting, organize, simple yet complex, filled with different works that children get to explore at their own rhythm. GMS is academically, emotionally and socially nurturing!... Alum: Based on a global view, WBHS isn’t a terrible school, but it isn’t the best. There are trailers that are old, and the school is constantly renovating the athletic stadiums rather than the school itself, but it’s one of the best schools in the county. Regardless of the appearance of WBHS, the knowledge I obtained while attending was very good! I now attend WVU and there is quite a lot that I already know of was exposed to before starting college. I feel like WBHS really helps to shape its students by exposing them to different cultures, ideas, and people from all over the place with all different backgrounds. It may be in a smaller community, but WBHS still prepares their students for the big world.... Read 191 reviews

Parent: Our daughter goes to the Pre-Nursery program for 2 year olds (the description on this Niche site says that Preschool program starts at age 4 - not correct) and she is thriving. She is able to recognize letters and count, and loves her music class. There's library session once a week, and very well thought out learning modules. The teachers are excellent and have wonderful communication with the parents. My husband and I were both former teachers at private institutions and we love the school!... Read 14 reviews
