University City Senior High School

Senior: I have absolutely loved all four years at U. City High School. As a student of the district since kindergarten, I have seen many peers leave and cite the general unfair concerns about a majority-black school district: It's unsafe; it's academics don't measure up; students don't leave college or career ready; teachers are burned out and don't care; the environment is underfunded, dangerous, and distracting. I can almost guarantee that anyone who makes such claims has never set foot inside the building, and I feel bad for anyone who succumbs to their preconceived stereotypes. The school culture is everything and more that I could hope for in a high school. The students are bright and friendly; everyone is accepting and has a place to fit in. The teachers genuinely care about their students and want them to succeed. I take immense pride in being able to say I went to U. City because I have found a true home here.

Senior: My experience at Normandy High School was great, almost everybody got along with each other. You might have heard rumors about that school, but that was in the past. I honestly have to say that out of all the schools I went to Normandy is the best.
