Senior: I have absolutely loved my time at Lakes. I have learned so much from all the classes and grown so much throughout. We are given so many resources like councilors, libraries, computers, writing and math help. I think the majority of adults here sincerely care about all their students. I would love if they fixed the parking lot though, that is absolutely horrible, but all in all, I am so glad I go to Lakes!... Read 394 reviews

Junior: I loved the family feeling at Grayslake north! Also challenges you to be the best you can be! the one thing i would change about it though is the teachers. Some teachers i feel don't want to be there and it shows. Also favoritism, many coaches and teachers don't mean to but they express who there favorite is and gives them more opportunities than others, even if they didn't do anything to deserve it.... Alum: Westlake Christian Academy is not perfect--no school is, especially small private schools. Sure, they do not have as many AP classes or clubs as a public school, but that's what you would expect from such a small school. What differentiates Westlake is the people. Never have I had such a group of caring teachers or friends around me. Everyone there, student or faculty, truly cares about you and your education. Furthermore, the spiritual formation at the school is incredible. Westlake has helped me grow in my faith significantly, even though I was only there for a few short years. Additionally, there are benefits to going to a smaller school! Camaraderie within classes was wonderful, and even an average athlete can compete on multiple varsity sports teams. Even though it often gets a bad rep, I would hands down fully recommend Westlake to any parents or students looking for a quality education in a Christian environment; you won't find anywhere better!... Parent: Veritas has been such a good fit for our family. Coming from a homeschooled background, we were concerned how our child would do there all day. My child looks forward to being at school everyday and especially in his classroom with his teacher. Our son feels totally safe there and had no separation anxiety. Every morning my child excitedly ran to greet the administrators at the door. He loved that he could start his day by racing them to be the first to say hello. He also loves going to memory period. He has grown so much this year. His teacher is bright, loving, fun and very patient. She takes them outside several times a day, gives them snack time and miraculously gets them to nap. It is amazing how much better his reading and social grace has gotten too. They have an excellent classical curriculum delivered in love. The teachers are very invested and the small class sizes guarantee personal attention. We also love the other parents. This family community is priceless!... Read 112 reviews

Senior: Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep is such an amazing school in the way everyone supports each other. As the years go by you see how much you've grown thanks to the school's faculty and staff. The environment overall has been such a nice experience that will never be forgotten. The school teaches you how to be professional which becomes very helpful in the long run. My first year of highschool I was very shy and scared. It was a new chapter of my life. I had no work experience and thanks to the Corporate Work Study Program the school has, it really opened up many doors for me. I was able to experience a real world work environment during my internship at a pharmaceutical company. I learned how to be professional and build professional relationships with my supervisors and coworkers. I became less shy throughout the years and wasn't scared to ask questions or for clarifications.I will always be glad and thankful I attended and graduated from Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep.... Parent: Our St. Patrick Wadsworth experience has been excellent. Administration is responsive and proactive, striving for strong educational culture. During the pandemic onset the school & Archdiocese worked diligently & transparently to assure continuity in education & as much social interaction as possible - even through the toughest period. Spring term was cut short and the move to e-learning was fairly seamless, all things considered. Return to school in fall allowed a full five day in person curriculum. We arrived 3 years pre-COVID & one of our children was behind in math & struggled due to our prior school. St. Patrick staff supported development from a challenged position to high performing honor role student in less than one year. Communication & feedback has been extraordinary from all educational & support staff. St Pats is working hard to attract a diverse student body, however they have not yet achieved strong balance. They do a fine job advocating for equity and tolerance.... Read 5 reviews

Middle School Student: This school really prepared me for high school. It taught me strong study habits and allowed me to form tight bonds with my classmates. Definentally an above-average school. Alum: I learned a great deal at St. Bede Elementary School. Not only was I well-prepared as a student for the greater academic demands of high school, but I also was provided with a structured environment in which I could grow as an individual. The values and interpersonal relationships emphasized in each classroom have followed me throughout my life, and I am grateful for the more personalized instruction that the smaller class sizes afforded. I developed meaningful and lasting relationships with my classmates, as well as with the teachers, who always treat students with kindness and respect, and attentively, fairly, and appropriately discipline the students when necessary. The love present in this private school helps lay a foundation for a successful adulthood more strongly than any public school in the area, and I look back fondly on all of the memories and lessons I experienced between kindergarten and eighth grade.... Alum: The children seem happy and motivated to learn. The classrooms are beautiful filled with Montessori materials that seem to excite the children to want to work with them. The teachers are Montessori trained and there is not turnover in staff like at other schools. The school has a wonderful music and dance program that all age children participate in. P.E. is offered everyday and the playground is natural and offers a lot of play space as well as equipment. Community is a big theme here.... Read 1 review

Parent: When moving to IL we searched for a school similar to our children's prior Montessori program. We found Forest Bluff and it has been a most positive experience for the entire family. My children were welcomed into the program and our transition went smoothly. One aspect that we have particularly enjoyed about this school is the thoughtful outreach to the parent community. It is clear that each family is cared for and there are ample opportunities as a parent to expand your knowledge of childhood development and foster relationships with other families. My elementary-age daughter very much enjoys how art is seamlessly woven into the program. Another pleasant surprise was the structure of outdoor time. It not only encourages physical activity but also time management and social skills. There are many other thoughtful details incorporated into Forest Bluff's program but we must stress our positive experience with teachers and staff: knowledgeable, warm, and supportive!... Parent: We absolutely love Saint Clement! We have been a school family there since 2015 and couldn’t be happier. We can’t say enough about the amazing teachers and how dedicated they are to their students. Everyone on staff is friendly, engaging and always more than willing to lend a hand. We also love the support services they offer in addition to classroom instruction - reading support, math support, enrichment classes, school counselor, etc. Saint Clement not only offers a high quality, well-rounded education but also fosters the development of their students’ social-emotional skills and relationships. We highly recommend it!... Read 9 reviews
