Niche User: Incredible faculty. Great school for both academics and sports. A diversity of strengths for well-rounded students that simply can’t be matched by other private schools in Northern Virginia. Students genuinely support each other, even after they become alumni. It’s not uncommon for alumni to return from prestigious universities to share how well the school prepared them for the academic challenges ahead. Also, the robotics program is literally world class!...Read 81 Reviews

Senior: I really love this school. It allows you to make up credits in less time than regular high schools. I also love that the class sizes are so small that everyone in the school knows who is missing that day. One thing that I wish would change is the acceptance levels...Read 1 Review

Parent: My two kids have very different learning styles and strengths. The low student to teacher ratio really makes the curriculum adapt well to both kids. Initially, we chose the school because of the opportunity for my kids to become fluent in Chinese, but we stay there because the Montessori model for learning is amazing. I'm not looking for a school that teaches to the test, but where kids are motivated to learn because they are truly interested in the subject matter. The test results will follow form!...Read 2 Reviews

Parent: Both of our kids started at The New School in ninth grade, after eight years of public school. It was one of the best parenting decisions we've ever made. Everything about this school is terrific. The teachers are passionate, inspired, and inspiring. Small, topics-driven, seminar-style classes foster creativity and independent thinking, while the welcoming atmosphere makes everyone feel at home. Our two kids turned out to be very different kinds of learners, but both thrived at The New School. Our youngest graduates next year, and we'll be sad to think of not having that day-to-day connection. Can't say enough about this wonderful school!...Read 26 Reviews
