Alum: I wish that the band was better. When I switched to Winterset CSD in the middle of my junior year, I noticed that the band was a lot better. They have been to state competitions as well as nationals. Their jazz band has been to Europe, which says a lot. East Union on the other hand has a very sub par band and the instructor was too lenient for any real progress to be made. Senior: I have always been apart of Creston community ever since I was in kindergarten. I was born and raised here in Creston. Growing up in Creston, I have had great teachers that have helped shape me into the person I am today. Creston is a very encouraging, go getting community and is willing to take a challenge and step up and help someone who maybe be needing it. Just recently, our school has started town wide painting murals to brighten up Creston. This is a great way to get the community involved in building up our town and bring it back to life!... Parent: St. Malachy school provides a faith-based education in a family atmosphere. Their strong academic record is a testament to the teachers and their commitment to our children and this community. From the spaghetti supper/carnival, advent angels & Mass participation to the talent show, Lap-A-Thon & lifelong friendships, St Malachy has provided countless positive experiences for my kids. St Malachy not only teaches academics, but they also help families produce well behaved, compassionate children who grow into loving, productive adults. My 20-year old college student was recently home for Christmas and opted to volunteer at the St Malachy pre-school for a week during her break.
