Parent: The teachers are all so amazing! They are nurturing and you can tell they really have a passion for teaching and growing minds. The administrative staff are also very helpful and have great communication. The various events for both students and parents always go above and beyond expectations. CCDS' 62-acre campus is unmatched and enable their rich outdoor education, my kids particularly enjoy the animal farm they have! Senior: I loved Ursuline Academy because of the loving and welcoming community. The environment with all girls creates a strong sisterhood were everyone is comfortable being themselves. Its mentality is putting peoples best work forward and always trying to improve the next time. The teachers are friendly and kind and want to make sure all their students understand their work. Our complex schedule definitely gets us ready for college with making sure that we have good time management skills. Of course there are areas that the school could improve on such as reaching out to be more diverse instead of an all white school. The food could be better with all the money that gets put into the school, and some of the equipment for sports teams and theater could be replaced. Overall, it is a great school with a intense focus on academics and leadership in the community where everyone can find there place at this school. Parent: My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with Saint Ursula Academy. We have 4 daughters. Our first just graduated from SUA and is going on to an elite university. Not only is she more than prepared (academically, emotionally and socially) she is a confident citizen of the world and already making the world a better place! Parent: Moeller High School has been a perfect fit for our family. We are grateful that our sons are experiencing such a well-balanced high school experience. They are challenged by high level academic classes, participate in sports they are passionate about and have time to build relationships with other students. The House System has really helped them flourish as a part of a community, bringing students of different grade levels together to mentor each other and create bonds with individuals they may not have otherwise gotten to experience. Teachers are thoughtful, approachable and understand what it takes to teach young men. It's not only academics they teach but also life lessons to help these men beyond high school. Moeller has something for everyone - clubs, sports, service, academics, arts, leadership. Moeller is the perfect size - not too big and not too small for this family. Senior: Honestly, Turpin is an amazing school. There may be some things that I dislike, but overall, it’s great. The academic rigor may seem intense, however there are often times 3 levels of each class. With the opportunity to move down a level, students are able to learn at a pace they’re comfortable with. The staff is mainly pretty good! They care about mental health and will reach out to their students if they’re concerned. They’re also very dedicated to making sure the students succeed. After the death of students in the past, the school has been mental health a priority, which is amazing. Therapy dogs come during lunch occasionally and there’s resources available for every student. The counselors do seem a little strained with only four of them compared to the amount of students though. Junior: I enjoy anderson high school. the teachers put a lot of effort into their studies, and do their best to provide a fun academic time for their students. Often time flies by, and I have lots of fun within each class, for instance, my english class, where we often have discussions about literature that we read. Teachers have the chance to be one-on-one with students, and its helped me feel success within my high school. They even provide rewards for being a "good student in standing", making a very good reward system as well as a good way to help students work much harder. Junior: I started attending MVCA in preschool. MVCA has good academics, they offer advanced courses including AP classes. There are several amazing teachers who strive to be not just great teachers, but also great role models. Unfortunately, with being a small school, there are not a whole lot of options for what classes you can take. MVCA's high school has a very small student body. Unfortunately that means that it can be hard to fit in or find like-minded individuals. It also means that everyone knows everyone's business. In terms of Christianity, MVCA offers Bible classes that promote reading and memorizing Scripture. In high school, students study the Old and New Testaments as freshmen and sophomores. Then they study Apologetics and Comparative Worldview as juniors and seniors. We also have weekly chapels with student-run worship and a sermon from a faculty member. Parent: I cannot say enough good things about our experience at McNick. Each of our kids have different academic strengths, and McNick is the only school that has helped our gifted kid continue to be challenged and our kid on an IEP be guided to success in the classroom. The amount of clubs is outstanding -- there is literally something for everyone! The sports program is simply amazing and completely student centric -- so much has been invested to ensure the safety and strength training of our kids. On a final note, we were slightly hesitant about sending our kids to a parochial school because other schools in the area shied away from addressing important issues such as social injustice and mental health & emotional learning.
