Works Here: I have been fortunate to work at several different independent schools and the Episcopal Academy is the best! The community is warm and caring. Teachers challenge students to do their best while carefully encouraging and guiding them. The administration is supportive, forward thinking, and deeply engaged in the life of the school. The students are incredible - truly - and they have access to excellent educators and phenomenal facilities and programs...Read 144 Reviews

Alum: Great school overall. Westtown's student body is extremely friendly and open, and the four years here have been a memorable experience. Would definitely come here again given the choice. That being said, Westtown is overrated in certain academic areas, especially STEAM (STEM + Art). While it did encourage students to experiment across subjects and think critically, it also led to a worse grasp on the sciences. ...That being said, there are resources for bright and hardworking students who are truly willing to go above and beyond (I met some of the smartest and most diligent people I know here), but the bar is high and they form their own little circle by sophomore year...If it stops here I'd give the school a four-star, but Westtown's policies and effort during the pandemic was outstanding and definitely deserve an additional star. It did a great job of supporting the students and made sure we are safe and happy...Thanks to Westtown, I got into my dream school despite the pandemic.Read 95 Reviews

Parent: My son joined The Walden School in middle school. Coming from a smaller elementary school we were hoping he'd choose The Walden School over the public middle school due to its size and stellar reputation in the community. Luckily, he wanted to attend Walden after even the first visit! Everyone from the support staff to the classroom teachers have been kind, welcoming, and supportive. When I think of how we're trying to raise our son I feel confident The Walden School mirrors our values and morals. They instill virtues such as empathy and kindness all within a less pressure, but nonetheless solid and challenging academic program. This school has so many positives- a tight knit community, lovely staff, a focus on the individual needs of each child, and even yummy lunch choices. A bonus is we love seeing him happy at recess and on the playground still...something most middle schools do away with. We are very pleased, and highly recommend this school to anyone considering it!...Read 15 Reviews

Sophomore: I have been going to the Agnes Irwin School since kindergarten (I am currently in 10th grade.) Throughout lower, middle, and upper school I have felt very supported by my teachers. They are always willing to meet with you if you need any help or have any questions. The classes are challenging and fun and now that I am in high school I have many opportunities to choose classes that are interesting to me such as neuroscience. I am on the crew team and I feel proud to be representing Agnes Irwin during our races. My grade is very close and I love going to school because I get to be with my 70 best friends every day!...Read 138 Reviews

Parent: What impresses me most about Barrack is the supportive, nurturing environment among both peers and educators that emphasizes a holistic approach to each student's growth and development. JBHA is undeniably academically rigorous and intellectually stimulating—offering intimate class sizes, a plethora of dynamic extracurricular opportunities, a seamless stitching of Jewish life and learning into the curriculum, and innovative courses like CORE that blends literature and history—but it's the deep warmth and care you feel in every aspect of campus life that makes me most grateful to send my child to this school, which places a true focus on helping each student become a fully-realized self and an engaged, thoughtful citizen of the world...Read 48 Reviews

Sophomore: I have truly enjoyed my experience at Archmere Academy. Coming from a large public middle school, to a small, Catholic school was a big transition for me. I love the academic opportunities at the school. Not only can I challenge myself and find classes that interest me, I also have teachers who are passionate about what they teach and are always willing to help students understand via one-on-one time, questions in class, or new lessons. I personally enjoy the arts program and the athletics program; both showcase the talent of the students and allows students to channel their energies. My suggestion would to be conscientious about coursework. Homework can pile up if you don't manage your time well. Overall, I love coming to school everyday!...Read 168 Reviews

Senior: When I first came to Church Farm school in 8th grade, I did not know what to expect. All I could think about was how am I going to fit in and who would I become friends with. By the end of the day, when my parents had left, I was greeted by not only the people in my class but the people in the upper grades. This truly showed me how much they had cared because they were once in the same position and knew exactly what I felt. It did not matter who you were, where you came from, or what you looked like. Living with your friends and seeing them 24/7 not only allows you to make great connections but it also allows you to make new brothers and be apart of a new family that you know has your back. ... Church Farm School is where I had begun my high school career, and I am happy to say it is where I am going to graduate. Freshman: Rustin High School has been amazing! Due to the unprecedented conditions of 2020 and 2021, I haven't been able to have the true high school experience since I am only a Freshman. I hope next year will be different as a whole. Even though I didn't have the opportunity to receive the full high school experience yet, Rustin is receiving five stars for how it is handling the situation. We are only moving in one direction in the hallways and we have a certain stairwell for up and one for down. The teachers are doing a great job managing the roomers and the zoomers and in the building, we have block scheduling and cohorts. It is a lot to manage and I give them the utmost respect for doing so...Read 316 Reviews

Alum: The best thing about Villa is the environment of its classrooms. Villa girls are encouraged to speak their minds and are expected to do so without fear of 'being wrong' or 'sounding stupid.' Villa girls become truly comfortable asking questions, sharing opinions, or even contesting the teacher; nor do they fear judgement from classmates when speaking their minds. Encouraging young women to feel comfortable in a classroom facilitates high performance in college and in the work force. Villa's dedication to encouraging young women to confidently articulate themselves in the classroom sets their graduates up for real success - I am truly grateful for this formative experience. ...The big drawbacks: some admin. individuals were difficult to deal with and enforced rules to a very intense degree - which fostered a culture more focused on fear of punishment than growth and self-discovery. The diversity at Villa needs to be improved - there was one person of color in my graduation class...Read 83 Reviews

Freshman: ND has already impressed both me and my family ever since coming this year. I came from a school that had limited academic option, and ND had been the opposite! The new STEM building and programs that are being implemented are quite impressive, and it shows how much they want to invest in STEM! They also put an emphasis on the arts. The laptops each student get are also extraordinarily helpful or keeping up to date. Freshmen have the most limited options in courses for their first years, but there are still many different courses you can take in language and math. All other classes have honors options, which you must test into or be recommended for. Coming to ND was the best choice of my life because it is a place where academics are extremely valued but are never put onto a student in a way that harms them. I have already grown so much and I am already dreading graduation!...Read 96 Reviews

Alum: Salesianum has a name to uphold. So do the students there. They like to use the phrase,"you students are standing on the shoulders of giants," and they are correct. But what goes largely unnoticed is that many of the students themselves are already well on their way to growing to sizes of larger proportions while being supported by each other and the amazing faculty at the school. I honestly really did not want to go to Sallies when picking out high schools, but with parents like mine, I never had the freedom to choose. Yet some how I come to be satisfied with the decision that was made. The athletics are top notch, musical productions never disappointed, there was always an activity to take part in or game to be played. The academics were great not just because of the entire extremely competent teachers, but also because of the many bright young individuals working their hardest. In the end I was very happy to have graduated from Salesianum and to have found a home with those I'd met...Read 114 Reviews

Alum: Penncrest was a great experience for me as a 2018 grad, but the school itself is far from perfect. Many of the facilities are in dire need of renovation. Some of the sports programs are downright pitiful (others are strong, to be fair). From what I understand the school is understaffed in many areas and the administration lacks transparency. Having said that, there are also many areas which I believe distinguish Penncrest as an above average public school. The teachers, in my experience, have all been very approachable and demonstrate a clear interest in bettering their students futures. I have developed lasting relationships with several teachers and I believe the quality of individuals that teach at Penncrest really set it apart...Read 225 Reviews
