Genesee Jr/Sr High School
- Genesee School District, MI
- Rating 3.26 out of 5 54 reviews
Senior: I am a current graduating student at Genesee Jr/Sr High School and I have been enrolled since transfer from Elementary in 4th grade onward in the school district. It has been an honor to meet some of the greatest teachers and faculty at this small school, with plenty of opportunities to meet and know almost everyone at the school. However, the school lacks opportunities in many areas, such as activities after school and volunteering opportunities. Many of these opportunities must be taken on one's own, rather than given by the school. The school also had plenty of activities in the past, but with declining student population, more and more teachers and activities keep on being shelved. Overall, the atmosphere has been lacking in the last few years, but the school is now starting to improve with good faculty and a great, close, but small student culture.

Senior: Millington High School is by far a very welcoming and warm environment, hands down. I grew up in Millington and had attended school there up until November of my seventh grade year due to moving to a different district. Nearly five years later, my senior year had quickly approached me. I knew that I wanted to graduate from Millington because it is my home and where my roots are. After speaking to my parents about the situation, I transferred back to Millington. I am so happy to have done so. Not much changes in a small town, but I will tell you one thing. You will never come across a town as warm, welcoming, and at home as Millington. We are like one huge family, Our facilities may not be as large or modernized as other schools, but the support system and education that Millington schools provides is fantastic. After all, it is quantity over quality and the environment that children grow up in that makes the difference.

Lakeville High School
- Lakeville Community School District, MI
- Rating 3.29 out of 5 95 reviews
Senior: Lakeville is a fantastic small school. The great part of lakevillet is everyone knows everybody. We are all one big family and in a time of trouble we are there to support eachother. The teachers aaways have time to work with the students when they do not hesitate to help out. The teachers and staff are a great encouragment and always trying to help make the school better. Like every school there are issues though. The passing time between classes is short so, depending on how far away your next class and locker is reflects whether or not you have rush to class to get there on time. The lockers are also small and it is hard to keep organized and pack all of our stuff in them at the same time. Our school also has a lack of funds that restricts our ability to fix the technology and get the new books we need.

Alum: I had an overall positive experience at E. A. J., and I would definitely recommend attending. I loved the teachers, and I found it easy to learn because the staff really cared about us. I graduated knowing that the staff truly cared about me and my peers and our success. The environment was friendly, and I knew that wherever I went in the building I could look to any of the faculty for support and a kind word. If I were to change anything, it would have been the unity of the students. The staff seemed to try their best in this aspect, but it seemed as though students were often coddled when they misbehaved instead of facing any real punishment, creating a line between those who followed the rules and those who broke them, because everyone really was treated the same regardless. It almost seemed as though there was no incentive to follows the rules and be respectful when there was no punishment for those who did the opposite. Overall, a positive experience.
