Senior: Though this school is small, if that what's you're looking for it's great! Very competitive environment and lots of availability for one-on-one time between students and teachers. The involvement of the high school students with the lower school students is so unique to Lakehill. This school makes it possible to do every thing you could possibly want to do. I am a leading member of 3 clubs, in student government, do both the musical and the play, and manage a 3.97 GPA while also being a full-time, out-of-school athlete with practice 7 days a week. If you want to do it all, Lakehill is the place to do it, but the environment is definitely better for those focused on and driven towards successful academics. Senior: Attending Bishop Lynch was an amazing experience for me. I went here thinking I wouldn't make new friends since all my old ones went to different high schools. Now I've made long lasting relationships with my friends. The education here at Bishop Lynch is great and its dual enrollment with Eastfield college will allow me to graduate with around 40-60 hours of college credit. All of my teachers have been amazing and they really do care about you. The environment they provide in the classroom is really nice, and to me they felt like another friend. Junior: Richland Collegiate High School is an excellent school for students who are dedicated to getting ahead in their studies. With the completion of this program, one will receive their high school diploma and associates degree. It has been an eye opening experience on the reality of every aspect of college regarding classes, grading, time management discipline, and career preparation. Staff and administration really want the best for their students in order for them to succeed regarding resources, communication, and overall support. It is fairly easy to make friends as we are all here for one main goal and we support each other on that aspect. Middle School Student: Very good, there is only one problem too much kids are coming with houses being built. Some of the kids that are moving does not even have any respect and our school is turning into hopeless schools like Mesquite ISD. Freshman: Sunnyvale High School is a very well-run multicultural institute. I’ve enjoyed the people in the school and the learning experience. The reason I gave it four stars is because of its uncleanliness in restrooms and because of its sometimes annoying policy on ID’s. I can’t tell you how many time I’ve been late to a class because I was stopped in the hallway right outside my class and told to go get a temporary ID. Senior: All four years of my high school career I have attended First Baptist Academy, I believe this is where I was meant to be and is the perfect school for others to look into. FBA has a way of making its students and families feel welcomed and wanted. Each teacher and administrator truly cares for you and this is extremely apparent. FBA has also made sure I am college ready, my entire senior class was excepted into a university which demonstrates how FBA makes life after high school easier. Senior: I have been at Heritage for 13 years. Started in Kindergarten where I learned to read and write and receive Jesus has my Lord and Savior. Even through our school is small, I have been a part of the Scream Team and Dazzlers (pep team and twirling baton team in elementary), ASL for 4years, theater for 4 years (which includes One Act Plays and High School Musicals), cheerleader for 2 years, gone on a winter Mission trip to Missions, Texas 3 years, football and basketball Trainer for 4 years. And I have received the Christian Student of the Year Award. Our school gives us an opportunity to experience different activities. We are also an College Prep school. The standards are high and the teachers make sure we are accountable to the College Prep standards. I love being at Heritage and experience I have had there. Senior: I loved how small my school is so everyone knows each other, and it feels like a family. I also like how the administration is always there to help you with any problems you have. They prioritize your needs, and their doors are always open to listen to your situation, or provide advice and solutions. It is also generally a very positive atmosphere, with constant activities and school programs to bring more excitement to the learning. Even within the classroom, many teachers have art or creative writing assignments to make the work more enjoyable to complete. They also try to keep the workload manageable by limiting the amount of tests per week. I do think the school would be improved if they had more clubs and extracurricular options, as well as a better gym program. Parent: We have been blessed to be at GCA for 13 years now. The teachers are caring individuals and our son is ready to enter the next phase of his life. He has been accepted to multiple colleges, received an ROTC scholarship and multiple other merit based scholarships and is academically prepared for college. More importantly, he has been taught a Biblical perspective on life and has had multiple opportunities to grow in leadership through sports and student council. Senior: This school offers many opportunities for all students; there are shining aspects to this school, but some drawbacks exist. Academically, the advanced classes do offer challenging material. Ultimately, the teacher makes or break that experience. I have felt that my experience has been mostly positive, but there are some teachers in which I disliked their style of educating. I also disliked how teachers handle their grades; many tend to rush them at the end of a grading period. As someone in the band, I love the program from football games, marching shows, attending competitions, and more. This definitely made my overall high school experience amazing and one to remember. The standard for our band keeps rising each year and I'm happy with that; our presence in the school is also increasing, and with that comes school spirit!
