Parent: Proctor Academy has been an incredible gift to my son. He was doing well at a very competitive high school but was suffocating under the grind and had lost his love of learning. We kept running into apathetic teachers who did not seem to care much about the individual experience of students. He decided to make a move to this small private boarding school and it has changed his life. He has grown into a thoughtful, self aware and engaged young man who cares about his community, the people around him and the larger global context. The Proctor teachers care deeply about their students and work hard to both support and challenge them. He loves his classes and welcomes the hard work that allows him to excel academically. There is a certain joy that Proctor fosters and it comes across in the interesting curriculum, the 5 study abroad programs, the service days and all the other Proctor traditions. This place is a gem!... Read 26 reviews

Senior: I liked the connectivity with the community. Sunapee does a very good job including all of the students into the community. One thing that Sunapee could improve on is their funding for the arts programs. A lot of money is put into the sports, which is understandable because the sports have a lot of demand. However, the smaller clubs such as the drama club or the music department could be funded a little bit better. Most of the teacher at Sunapee are amazing teachers. One of the most amazing things about Sunapee is how easy they make it to talk to the teachers. Because Sunapee is such a small school, it is very easy to develop close relationships with the teachers and the students. Everyone not only knows everyone, but they also know everyone's birthday, favorite color, and favorite pair of jeans.... Read 13 reviews

Parent: Generally, I've been pleased with the quality of education my kids have received here and the willingness of the admin to help provide additional options and learning support as needed. There are some stellar teachers, and the extracurricular and enrichment options are impressive. The school isn't perfect, however, tends to take a more autocratic approach than not, and their dress code victim-blames girls. Overall, a good school system that challenges students with room for improvement like most of us.... Read 30 reviews

Parent: I can't say enough good things about the teachers at St. Anne's-Belfield. My child lost a lot of ground learning virtually in public school during the pandemic. His teachers at St. Anne's have gone the extra mile to catch him up without making him feel bad (or even letting on that he's behind). Really love that he has access to learning resource specialists and the school counselor. Can't speak to athletics as he's more of a CS nerd (and the program is amazing btw!), but I understand they are stellar if that's your kids' thing. As with all private schools, I wish it were more diverse, but the school does a good job being intentional about diversity and inclusion so kids are aware and prepared to interact with people of all backgrounds and cultures, even if they don't see a lot on a daily basis.... Parent: Several of my children have and are attending Mount Royal. I can say that the longer they spend in the school the better off they are academically and spiritually. The small, intimate environment enables them to engage with many students and teachers that they otherwise may not have if they attended a larger school with many classes per grade. They read timeless books and are encouraged to challenge ideas with logic. They memorize the basic facts of each subject before advancing to more difficult learning. The teachers and staff are dedicated and compassionate. The school does it's best to help the students form solid characters based in virtue. I highly recommend this school!... Read 13 reviews

Senior: This is truly an amazing school. I value the relationship between my teachers and me. It is obvious they love what they do and want every student to succeed. Also, I know Academy has prepared me for college - the work load, albeit difficult, is manageable. Additionally, the sports facilites are incredible; I do not know many schools that have their own pool attached. That being said, I would like to see more attention given to the fine arts department. There are so many hidden artists in my grade that I did not know about until taking Studio Art. Finally, recognizing the minorities in the community, Norfolk Academy has taken steps to make their campus more inclusive this year. Overall, I have loved my high school experience at NA and highly recommend this school to students striving to make the most of their education.... Read 143 reviews

Parent: My children have been attending Riverdale for the past 7 years and we have been extremely pleased with the level of education our little ones receive. The teachers are knowledgeable and caring, the classes are small, and the administration is responsive. Your child isn’t just a number at Riverdale, they’re family. I would highly suggest this school for anyone looking to place their child at a school that will allow your child to flourish!... Read 141 reviews
