Senior: Academy of the Canyons is a very academic-oriented school, as it has no sports. It has high offerings in the STEM fields, so you can take advantage of a lot of opportunities there. The clubs and activities are lacking in terms of their breadth, but that is to be expected from a school of 400, so most of what you do outside the classroom is in reality outside the school. The teachers and staff there are amazing and always ready to support you, in & out of the classroom! Junior: West Ranch is an excellent high school! There are so many interesting teachers and students that create a safe and exciting learning experience. Most of the teachers I have had have been extremely knowledgeable in the subjects they taught, as well as passionate and enthusiastic to share their knowledge. They are always willing to take the extra time to help students, even outside of scheduled class time. In addition to academic classes, there are plenty of super fun electives which I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in. West Ranch has such an amazing campus that allows for fun subjects such as art, culinary, sports, music, and more. These things allow students to bond with one another through common interests. They also foster practical skills that can be used for life after school. Alum: I went to Trinity Classical Academy from kindergarten through 12th grade and I loved the experience! I was able to watch and grow with the school and my friends as it progressed over time. Teachers and faculty are very active in making sure that the differing programs advance to a classical standard which is best for the student body and families. I was involved in groups such as theater, orchestra, cross country, soccer, softball, and more over my years there. I appreciated how the administration was willing to listen to concerns and go about change for the better. I now go to Patrick Henry College, a classical private Christian college in Virginia. I am going to this college because, through the administration, faculty, staff, and culture of Trinity, I have recognized that to best make an influence on today's culture, a Christian must learn from the past and apply a biblical worldview to the glory of God.... Parent: We felt the school was well supervised, and most of the teachers were excellent. Very sympathetic to LGBT concerns and social media bullying. Principal was no-nonsense and there is an expectation for good behavior and academic excellence. They did have a flooding problem in the yard at one point, but otherwise excellent facilities. Freshman: Even though this is my first year at Bishop Alemany High School, I am absolutely loving my experience here! There is so much opportunity and I really do appreciate how the teachers push you to challenge yourself to the best of your ability. For my elementary and middle school years, my last two schools were small and everybody knew everybody. In a way, that was a positive, but it also left me wondering what other opportunity lies outside…What things could I do that I can’t do here? When I went to Alemany for the first time, I was amazed by the amount of students, the diversity, and all the options I had that weren’t offered before! For example, I am very much an arts type of person and I love theater and music. At Alemany, I was ecstatic to learn I could start a club to interact with other people who share my love of music! Senior: I loved my experience at SCCS! I was able to grow close with many students of various grades, and form great friendships through different extracurricular activities. The school event, such as our Christmas banquet, are a great way to enjoy time with friends and create memories you will never forget. Being a relatively small school, students are able to have good relationships with teachers and faculty members who actually care and would like to see you succeed. Of course, no school is perfect, but SCCS comes very close. The only thing that I would change is the disciplinary action approach. Alum: I absolutely love everything about this school and am so thankful that I attended it from 4th-12th grade. The teachers are spectacular. They go above and beyond to help every student succeed, and they cultivate great relationships with the students that make for very fun and engaging classes. COL has a great culture of family atmosphere. Everyone, from the students to the teachers, genuinely cares about each other. I always felt safe and included among my peers. The academics and college prep are excellent. My classes were fun, yet challenging. When I began taking college courses, I felt very prepared by the classes I had taken at COL. When I was applying for college, COL helped me with everything I needed, from SAT prep to information about the FAFSA. Parent: We love HCS! My daughter has been a student of HCS since Kindergarten. We have had nothing but great experience from this school and its staff. My now 9th grader continues to thrive in academics, sports and most importantly in her spiritual growth. The love and care that the teachers and staff have demonstrated speaks volume to me as a parent. I appreciate the close-knit family feeling of being in a small campus. There are enough activities for all students to participate in. Academically, it is competitive as shown with the most recent college acceptances. Alum: Hello I was a student at Alliance MIT. I recently just graduated as a Senior from the first founding class of Alliance MIT. Since we were the first set of students to establish school life and culture, we were only able to do so much. We now leave Alliance with a legacy of decent state test scores and drinking boba from our neighborhood donut shop. Alliance has so much potential since the building is brand new. Senior: high school should push me to start thinking about what I want to do for the rest of my life, it should teach me to see how hard people work for others, it should teach us about what to expect in the future, and Bert corona charter high is the school that made me click, I went from not knowing and not caring about school to wanting to change and be the best that I can be, when I moved to Bert I kept escalating, I would slowly be getting better and better because I was a F student then I moved to bert and became an average student to an A student. I now know that I want to be a veterans affair social worker, and my School shows me paths of how to get there not just what school to go to and what majors but they show me how to afford for school and how I can make it to be the best social worker out there.
